Hey /fit/, a lard beast here, currently around 365 lb area. Last summer I got into lifting and calorie counting and lost 55 lbs in 3 months then was diagnosed with clinical depression and lost all will to live, so I gained all weight back, plus some. Decided I'm tired of being a land whale and would like some advice on decent food/meals. Already cut soda out, and eating a lot less fast food, but I have no idea what to buy/make. Any ideas would be great, thanks fellas.

Or olive oil. I prefer cooking with butter over olive oil, though.

Here's what I eat

Breakfast foods:

Oats, whole grain bread, bananas, oranges, whole milk, peanut butter, eggs, whey protein.

Lunch & Dinner foods:

chicken, beef, eggs, whole grain pasta/rice, green beans, broccoli, olive oil, tomato sauce, steak, fish.

Snacks:

almonds, peanut butter, carrots, whole milk, protein powder.

that's pretty much all I eat.

I normally just use a dash. Too much will make it impossible to eat, unlike salt on other things.

Chicken breast/thighs, lean ham, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, salmon, tuna

Apples, berries, stone fruit

Broccoli, cauliflower, baby carrots, peppers, onions, green beans, cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes

Rice, potato, sweet potato, winter squash, whole meal pasta, corn tortillas, high fibre bread

Seasonings, lite itallian dressing, salsa, bbq sauce, ketchup, mustard, balsamic vinegar

Eat what you want but just make it portion controlled/ healthier.

Tacos use corn tortillas+meat+onions+cilantro serve with some veg and refried beans
Salad use cottage cheese for the dressing add meat+ pickled/marinaded veggies like that sweet cucumber onion tomato salad
Chili meat+go heavy on the beans
Pizza make it on a flour tortilla

I don't know enough to say which is better. I just drink whole milk because I did HGOMAD in the beginning and now I love the taste of it. If you're trying to lose weight I'm sure 2% is fine.

and yeah apples are fine. any fruit is ok pretty much, just don't go crazy on fruit because of the sugars.
