Bench 255
Deadlift 450(with starps)

1090 total, is this good for a 5'9 185lb male lifting for 5 months am I making good progress

Anecdotal evidence but barbell curls have strengthened / lessened pain in my wrists, along with barbell reverse curls.

I started with the bar for 100 reps, then linearly progressed 3x10 up to a 1pl8 barbell curl.
Make small jumps, otherwise your wrists will hurt.

Yeah one set. At first I would take about 10 second rests every 10 or 20 reps, sometimes I had to even put the bar down for those 10 seconds.

Eventually I was able to 60 reps without stopping, and 40 after a short rest.

I liked it, but it was too challenging to do twice a week like the article said (At least for me), so I moved onto weighting my curls and using strict form.

What I really got from it was to use lighter weight and stricter form, which has helped a lot.

i have been in the past when i had wrist issues from piano. they did some tests and said i had no cts symptoms, told me to take some ibuprofen and stop spending time at the computer. i had daily constant pain and that's all i got. it's still bugging me from time to time.

weirdly he started to argue some semantics of the things i was saying, and now he's gone quiet for 20 minutes

i described i get sharp pain in my wrist when press my thumb down, simulating a bench press sort of, and he just says "yeah but i'm basing my diagnosis on what you originally told me" so it feels like he's ignoring most of what i'm saying.

no mention of guitar, piano or job. and i reckon spending 8hrs a day in front of a computer is more stressful for the wrists than doing light arm work, but that was not allowed apparently.

i also asked what to do when i'm recovered to avoid injury again, and he told me "you can get some problems if you load too heavy or not optimally, but you shouldn't get these problems again" (shitty translation)
