Anyone else use gym as a form of mental therapy? Like I don't care about getting big or fit or aesthetic, I'm already small and skinny from the diet I've followed all my life, but I see gym as an hour to just let go and enjoy being alone with just the weights and some music. It's like meditating, y'know? Just a segment of the day where I don't have to worry about anything else.

I definitely feel the same way. It the moment of a set I don't think in a way, i guess it is a type of meditation. Helps a lot.

when I was down and didnt seem to have a future I started doing this nothing really changed but life started seeming OK again even good HOWEVER you can still get gains out of it if you want to

that's what i do. when i'm at home i'm depressed and everything but when i'm at the gym i forget about everything. that's why i just sit there most of the time trying to prolong it.
We do what we do to get by
And then we need a release

I can relate. Maybe not that I want to be alone with my thoughts and focus on one thing, but some physical exercises after a day in a office is a blessing. I guess things work that way.
