First day at the gym today
>feeling somewhat embarrassed/awkward
>getting stared at by swole guys 2x my age
>see guy I knew from secondary school

>go home exhausted but feeling great

I went to the gym, worked out, and then left. No one spoke to me nor I to them.

Only took a year of paying for a gym membership before actually committing to it. Now I love it, have made some decent acquaintances at the gym, but generally go in, do my lifts, and leave. Gotta put yourself out of your comfort zone to ever get anywhere mate.

>Got a PT for first few lifting sessions

Felt great, i was addicted from that first day. The soreness of my legs and having serious trouble going up and down stairs was wonderful because i knew i pushed my body to the limit and now it was starting to change.

I guess I really didn't know, I just swallowed the knot in my throat and talked to them on a day I was feeling bold.
Obviously I didn't plan to ask when I was DL sub 1 pl8. I had meticulously watched tons of videos and practiced form best I could at home before all that. I think I asked someone for DL advice when I hit 180 lbs. Being that I injured my lower back a few years ago I was really nervous about going too heavy too fast and snapping some shit up. I asked a different guy when I hit 2pl8 for 5 just to make sure my form didn't break down. Once I got past the first terribly awkward encounter it's gotten easier with time.
