Does anyone elses knees and ankles hurt after running for a while?

First I thought it's because I'm running on the pavement so I began running in the forest. Didn't help, it still hurts after 20-30 minutes and 1-2 days afterwards.

Should I get new shoes? I'm not /fit/ but not a fat fuck either (normal BMI).

>buy new shoes if they are old

>check your running stance

>make sure you try and land on the ball of your feet

Don't land on your heels

Stop heelstriking. For practice, don't let your heels touch the ground at all. Try barefoot inside your house.
Your forefoot lands first and your calf muscle acts as a spring/damper.

try runningn barefoot a little bit, then it will be very apparent what you're doing wrong, and it will feel much better when you fix it (even while barefoot)

overuse, stop ruuning

Be aware that the first time you run with a fore- or mid-foot strike, your calves will be on fire after a mile
>>
>>40120000
Wouldn't midfoot strike be better?

Any more tips to prevent heel strike? Luv u guys
>>
Whenever I run on my balls they get blistered to fuck. Any suggestions?

Don't be afraid to take shorter strides. Moving your feet more often is better than crippling shin splints, which I'm experiencing right now as a result of heading back too enthusiastically into running after a long hiatus.
>>
Isn't landing on your forefoot extremely inefficient and slow?

It feels so fucking weird lmao.

Good forefoot strike tends to turn into a midfoot over time. If you are correcting from heelstriking, you need to retrain the movement pattern and let your muscles adjust first. It will feel weird at first and your calves will be sore the first few times. Start out with half a mile or so.

Make your steps as quiet as possible. If they're loud or you get a shock going up through your bones, you are striking wrong.

Get flat or low slope soled shoes, I use Nike Free 5.0 myself. Can use them for lifting too.
