How can people enjoy sports year after year?

I loved sports as a kid, from like 8-15. Then I grew out of it. Now 30 and my brother is still just as obsessed with sports as he was back when we were kids.

I just don't get it. I'd rather lift.

Speaking of expensive does anyone here enjoy winter sports like skiing/snowboarding. I may sound like an unappreciative asshole here but my father comes to visit me every winter because he enjoy's skiing with me. We're both pretty high level skiers but I just don't find it enjoyable at all and it's become more of a chore for me to go with him. I just don't have the heart to tell him because it's the only thing we do together and the fact that he spends so much money on the equipment, tickets, and gas money to do it.
