Yeah try a thing called 'exercise' to really maximize your respiratory gains.

breathing more, aka moving a larger volume of air through your lungs doesn't necessarily mean you'll burn more fat, if it just means you still absorb the same amount of O2 and exude the same amount of CO2 as previously.

Your goal needs to be to breathe out more CO2, which requires breathing in more O2 and then converting that to CO2 through oxidation. Exercise generally does this to you.
