If one only does cardio and diet to lose weight, do they end up skinny fat or just skinny?

If you're fat to start (I was) then you'll end up with stubborn belly fat, it's the last thing to go. I did diet+cardio to drop my fat before I switched to lifting.

If you eat enough protein andeven just do a solid body weight routine, your body won't take the weight as much from your muscles, as you will be building them. So your fat stores will go down, and your BF% with it, making you look nice and lean.
