Do push ups actually build muscle or do anything? My estimated 1rm on bench is 240-250 so pushups are kind of easy. I'm on a 2 day split, but I wanted to start doing some shit on my off days when I have time, bands, pushups, etc

The more I train the less push ups I seem to be able to do. I don't know why. I used to be able to just bang out 50 at least in one sitting without stopping. Now I struggle to do 30 and am averaging 20-25. Any fit fags know why this might be?
