why do you think keto is better for you than counting calories?
>>40077519
Because he is totally 100% retarded fat fuck that just disregarded the correct macro nutrient split for bodybuilding and wants an excuse to eat butter and bacon exclusivley
>>40077519
this poster meant to ask:
"Why do you think keto is better for you than counting calories while maintaining a more commonly accepted macro split, such as 50/30/20?"

you seem to be forgetting a few things
>the ketogenic diet improves insulin sensitivity, so for fat people it is objectively better than a diet that includes carbs
>you're still supposed to eat under your TDEE on keto
>>40077554
this is true
I find that eating keto makes it easier to stay under your calorie limit too because bacon, eggs, sausage, chicken, turkey, salmon, cod, halibut are all fucking delicious and not very calorie dense compared to other foods
>>40077667
>not very calorie dense compared to other foods
what other foods would you be eating? tortilla wraps filled with chips and mayonnaise?
>>40077667
>>40077708
i would assume that it's easier to stay under your calorie limit because you don't crave food as much as you would in a meal->blood sugar spike->blood sugar low->hunger cycle
>>40077749
yeah, this. most keto foods are actually very calorie dense because they're high in fat, but fat is satiating and doesn't cause an insulin response.
>>40077519
why not both? keto is effective at restoring insulin sensitivity. it's a good diet for type 2 diabetics and people with prediabetes, women with pcos, obese people, and epileptics. /fit/ hates it even though it has legitimate medical uses.
im thinking of doing keto but i love my morning smoothies, the only way i can e get my leafy greens are to put banana and strawberry in with it.

try intermittent fasting instead.
fasting and keto have the same health benefits, but fasting is better. (keto keeps your insulin low, fasting keeps it at zero)
>>40077763
Tell me about. I used one banana in my shake and it put me over my limit. Tasted better than my last shake by a mile though. Lost 5lbs so far but my intake is pretty low though.
>>40077799
everyone knows that fasting is out of the question for a fatty
>>40077799
Hell I do both.
>>40077799
what kind of IF do you do?
>>40077799
>insulin zero
but you'd be dead, you know that right?
Previous ketoer and on and off faster here.
I loved keto in the beginning, lost 15kg in just a few months. But started to get diminishing returns, got into fasting and lost another 6kg.
Don't think I could keto forever as it feels quite restricted especially when eating out but love IF. Will do again when I cut.
