There's no point in doing cardio if you're not training to be some type of athlete. An intense weight training workout with heavy compounds is more than enough to build a strong cardio base.

You should test your cardio base if you believe this. I recently figured out I'm not even able to keep up with my wife in a cardio class, like not even 25% as good. I don't feel strong when I can't do "high knees" for more than 60 seconds and she can.
