You can eat at BMR and be safe, so long as you're above 10% body-fat.
Don't listen to the idiots above saying TDEE, you'll be cutting forever that way and you'll have lost gains anyway for spending so long cutting.

If you are new to bodybuilding and dyel as fuck (you did make this thread....) , you don't even need to worry about losing muscle.
You will GAIN muscle cutting provided you get enough protein, and lift.
Just you will gain much less muscle than if you were bulking.

How fat are you? If you are at a totally unreasonable bodyfat % (30%+), just fucking starve yourself on -1250 or -1000 deficit and lift. You will still make gains lol, if you are untrained.
If your bodyfat is reasonable (under 20) then cut slow and steady, -500 below tdee.
