I injured myself deadlifting a month ago, been lifting for 5 months, I've been trying to perfect my deadlift form since I started.
How the fuck do I deadlift without killing myself? I've been trying for 5 months and I want to actually start deadlifting again because I've noticed my progress slowing dramatically since I stopped and I don't want to do it with my form fucked up.
How do I properly deadlift, /fit/?
>fell for deadlift meme
It depends on a number of things my dude.
Hard to coach technique without seeing it.

There's no point to doing it. You're literally saving yourself from *****2**** more exercises at the risk of completely snapping your shit up for a lifetime of problems.

How did you fuck up, OP? More context on your injury, please.

What if I don't go full heavy on deadlifts and instead just do slow, decent weights, to lower my risk of injury?

When coming up I strained my back too much and had to drop the weights. I had a terrible pain in my lower back for the next week and went to a physical therapist to soothe it.
PUSH YOUR FEET
THROUGH THE DAMN FLOOR
Keep your core tight. That's all I needed to figure out how to deadlift properly.

So happy to see people recommending Alan Thrall. Dude is a blessing to the community.
do flexibility and breathing work. tighten your core with holding your breath. record yourself deadlifting

>just do slow, decent weights
youll never amount to anything. go big or go fuck yourself
Are you doing an work? Pallof press and planks. Most likely your core is weak

Sounds like your hips rose faster than your chest.
just pick a challenging enough weight and practice technique that way.
