I pretty much guarantee you that the girl in that video could do that exercise with next to no issue, if she couldn't she likley wouldn't be there. Apparently the reason they do that is to present alternatives for people who aren't able to preform the proper exercise. It's not universal, but it's a pretty common practice for workout videos like this.

I get that it's upsetting, but there are people who legitimatley want to exercise but can't do stuff that normal people would consider trivial either because they're simply too out of shape, too fat, or they have a more legitimate physical condition that prevents them from doing so.

It's kind of one of those instances where it's better than nothing. If some lady sitting in her chair moving her arms and legs around helped motivate someone, even if it was just one person, to be more psychically active where otherwise they wouldn't have the will to do anything because they couldn't manage the proper exercise, then I'm quite glad that that lady was there demonstrating for them.

Over the last couple days I watched both MTV Fat Camp docs while working arms. They are 10/10 entertainment.

I'd like to add that the reason I find them 10/10 is that you're watching a pod of fat child whales go from being fat, ornery little cunts into less fat, fitness enlightened kids who (in several cases) have gone on to be fit adults since the docs were filmed. I unironically watched the 2 hours of this. It's been a while since I've watched a tv show.

2015, I was over 270lbs (not sure how much, because fuck scales)
Weak as fuck, never exercised in my life, never played sports more than one or two half-assed games. Ate like I deserved triple portions of everything.
I knew all about calories, the effects of exercise etc. Didn't do any of it.
Started with walking.
Now I am better. Weight creeping up a bit, but:
running 30+kms / week consistently
197 lbs this morning (dropping another 20-ish, don't care how fast)
Tried a static chin-up hold as a test agaist another fellow - a minute.
Tried wall handstand - 2 minutes
Full squat works like it should (heel stays on the ground) and develops satisfactorily. (don't do regular squats at home)
Can hold planks easily for a minute, usually do something to make it tougher, like fingertip mountain-climbers, slow as fuck
My heart swells with pride when I see people come in here and say clear, direct things in the FPH/FPS threads. These threads have done more for me than any other so far. I may just learn to lift things one day.

I highly recommend starting to lift. You do it just like you started losing your weight. Just start and do a little every day and a few months later you wake up and find that you've accomplished great things. My lifts are tiny baby weights compared to most /fit/izens, but they are huge compared to my sad formerly obese self.
