Lifting the bar off the rests.
Lowering it down to your chest.
Pressing it back up to the starting position.
>>
Benching your BW x 10 makes you stronger than 99% of the human population.
>>
>>40004688
Seriously? That's hard to believe.
>>
Is a 24kg one arm db bench any good?
>>
>>40004704
Relative strength, yes, it's true.

Examples.

>My brother does not lift, he is 140kg body-weight, and can only Bench Press 60kg for 5 reps, he is 28 years old.

>My cousin does not lift, he is 58kg body-weight and can only Bench Press the 20kg bar for 5 reps, and he is 20 years old.

>I am 80kg and I can bench press 80kg for 15 reps.

I'm not a math nerd, but I believe me bench pressing 80kg for 15 reps at 80kg body-weight makes me like 300% stronger than my brother/cousin in relative strength. Okay I made 300% up, but if any math nerd wants to do it, go ahead.

Here's the info

80kg BW + 80kg Bench Press + 15 reps (Me)

vs

140kg BW + 60kg Bench Press + 5 reps (My brother)

vs

58kg BW + 20kg Bench Press + 5 reps (My cousin)

How much % stronger am I than them? Work it out if you're bored.

Ok then

Brother: 60kgx5 = 69kg RM
Cousin: 20kgx5 = 23kg RM
You: 80kgx15 = 118kg RM
>>
>>40004688
Try 100%. The record is under 1100 for fuck's sake
>>
>>40004919
Sorry I read that wrong. I thought you meant your bodyweight times 10 as in a 200lb lifter benching 2000lb. Yes, I'm retarded
>>
>>40004718
For how many reps? But short answer, no.

Bodyweight within a year

Bodyweight x1.5+ is impressive
>>
>>40004718
I got to 24kg DBs within 3 months of chest press. Absolutely not.
>>
1.5X bodyweight is pretty solid after 2-3 years of training
1.75X bodyweight is really good in that same period, also pretty solid if you've been training for 3-4 years
2X bodyweight is goddamn impressive no matter who you are but may or may not be elite depending on your actual bodyweight
>>
225 (aka lmao2pl8) for five reps is generally considered the *bare minimum* to be considered "strong". (in other words, the "2" in 1/2/3/4.)
>>
>>40004992
>t. 190cm tall 110kg
fuck outta here, unless you bench over 3 plates relative strength is all that matters
