Hi /fit/
I have only exercised in high school and haven't in quite a long time besides freeweights and the occasional set up push-ups/situps.
After changing my diet in my teens I managed to shave off about 70 lbs, but I have concerns about what my body would look like if I went all the way and started really trying to get fit and improve my physical appearance.
You see, I have stretch marks on my thighs and my stomach. They aren't as pronounced as when I was really obese, but I'm worried they won't go away. I have similar concerns about skin flab. I know skin is very elastic but will I look like a weird fleshsack even if there's muscle underneath since I was once so obese?
Pic isn't me but shows what I'm talking about. Mine aren't this bad.

For weight reference:
I was around 220 lbs at my heaviest. I'm now hovering around 150 lbs.
I'm 5' 7"

>will stretchmarks go away
Nope, never, they do fade after a while.
>will skin flabs go away
Takes years if you're lucky, takes forever if you're unlucky.
These things are not good excuses to not get fit.
Get fit.

I've got stretch marks between my pecs and anterior deltoids. Both sides, had for years.
I've never been fat or ever past just an average body type but I didn't really notice them till I started hitting the gym religiously.
I've never treated it, it doesn't bother me since they're pretty small but I've had them for at least 5 years.

I got stretch marks on my legs from squatting so much after a certain point. Squat was 365 at 160 lbs and I looked like a recovering fatty on my legs.
get some vitamin e oil and rub it on the stretch marks every day if theyre red!
use a dermaroller, they're used for bad pregnancy marks, acne marks and surgical scars

I have a friend that got "rid" of her stretch marks via a tattoo artist that blended her natural skin tone and stretch marks.

What if she ends up getting a tan tho?

To be honest I have never noticed the blending has an air brushed kind of effect. You notice it, but its not BANG stretch marks. Now I personally believe every stretch mark and scar have value. Loose skin on the other hand can cause mobility and health issues depending on its location and size, but even when used for cosmetic reasons it can be used help burn victims.

The best way IMHO to combat loose skin is to lose your weight relatively slowly .5 to 1 pound a week max. Weight Training 3 times a week punctuated with 2 or 3 short 20 to 30 minute HITT sessions.
