I work in private equity, I help manage the businesses that we own and find ways to improve margins, cut costs, and increase revenue. I get to learn about businesses in many different industries and the operating procedures of each sector. There are 2 partners and 4 employees for the firm, not counting the employees of the businesses that we own. I get to work directly with the partners often and they have mentored me and taught me a lot about how to make, grow, and keep money. Right now I make a cool $42K/year and I'm able to save a lot of that.

Within the next 5 years I hope to buy a business that requires minimal operating labor from myself, so that I can do whatever I want and still have passive income coming in each day/week/month.

Then we may have not met. It's impossible to not have a life at these firms. The partners insist on taking you to all these bars and shout everyone cocktails and shit. They charge us out at $200 an hr then only give us half as salary, so they make up for it by getting you into an elite party scene.

It's pretty different from your shitty mate's local practice.

Glad to hear.

I capped my savings account at $25K, I figure I won't ever need more than that for an emergency fund, and I've been putting the rest of my "savings" into my Roth IRA and standard brokerage account (robinhood). Buying some passive dividend etfs and reinvesting everything, dollar cost averaging each paycheck. Between the dividends and ownership of 1-2 businesses I will be able to still pull $50K/year from passive income. I should "retire" from the workforce by age 30, I'm 24 now.

I think I have a good shot. Wish I started earlier but I can't go back so I'm doing all I can now.

>>
>>39983012
Not really. Legitimate passive income comes from owning businesses and paying other people operate them.

IE - You own the smoothie bar, a manager runs it and has 3-4 employees to do the legwork. You pay all of them, but the profit from the store goes into your pocket each month and you don't have to have an active role.

The rest is bogus aside from dividend investing or earning interest.

>>
>>39983059
Yes, generally you pay someone to do that if the business produces a profit. When you have enough businesses or enough profit, you have a group of people that watch out for you (ie - the private equity industry).

You will always have to work, but you can reduce that by paying good people good money to do a good job.

It is up to your skills and how much you love what you do man, pretty much like everything else. If your skills are good and you are passionate enough you will be treated like a king. If you are a lazy, sloppy cunt you will be treated like a slave (if you are lucky enough to land a job). As for the workload it depends on the day. Sometimes shit need to be done fast (huge workload for days) and other times as slow as possible (little workload per day).

Depends where you live.

You should be able to find some bargains in small ad sites or small auction houses.
If you go for diamond, look at prices for the size and quality you want on specialized websites and try and find one at 60 - 50% of that price, (also other shapes than rounds should be a little cheaper, there's simply less demand).

For any other stones, you could get a $10 garnet or a $5000 alexandrite for similar dimensions, there's a lot of different stuff.

Walgreens picked up the tab for pharm school?
>>
>>39984043
Cheers anon. Will look into it.
>>
>>39985009
Yeah but it's more like a contract
They paid 20k for each year I work for them, imo its a guaranteed job so I took it.
You can also pay it back if you don't want to keep working at walgreens. Since I was working for them since the beginning they were more lenient and I was able to stay in the same area however I do have a friend who was sent to shitty ghetto areas and no hopes of a transfer until his contract was over.
I only know about Walgreens but I am pretty sure walmart and CVS has the same deal. I would love to work at Walmart its much slower and the Pharmacist gets an actual break, CVS is poop, avoid completely.

Electrical Lineworker here

Pays really good, interesting (if not sometimes physically difficult) work, I get to be outside all day, but long hours (50-60 hours a week)

I'm 23 with zero debt, I own the title to my vehicle, and my credit score is good. I feel pretty secure
>>
Software developer aka code monkey.
It's great though because I'm in a Fortune 1000 engineering company, what I'm coding is stuff the engies use - it's fucking hard to deal with those retards though as they think they know it all.
Same with what most IT anons are saying here, I'm planning to move into management after I get my MBA, I'm still 22 and the graduate school I want to get into requires at least 2 years of real work experience.
I should also get into night trading, I get to buy our company's stocks at a discount and instead of letting it all go right away for instant cash, I need to learn how to play with it.

"National Wholesale Associate" with a health supplement company. Hours and pay are shit (30 a week tops and only $13.5). Only been here 2.5 months and I'm hoping one of the several county government jobs I've interviewed for comes through. Can't wait to see the look on my dick supervisors face when I quit halfway through the new years sale kek

Nothing, I'm living off daddy's money which actually brings me down and depresses me.

On the other hand I finished law school and I'm preparing the bar, so I have a lame excuse.

Are you going into solo practice or a billboard firm
>>
maintenance/janitor
I get my housing paid for and live 30 secs from the job (when I move there)

got a degree as a millwright and a college degree in commerce but couldn't find jobs since they ask 9+ years of experience
>>
>>39985336
Apartment complex?
>>
>>39985318
That would depend. I don't have contacts, or at least not anymore, so I would start anywhere they're hiring to get experience, which would be in a firm. If everything goes well, don't fuck up and knock up some girl then I would go solo and create my own firm.

Or decide to do something completely different like owning a gym or a chocolate factory after saving a large sum of money

What's the outlook employment for fit male nurses?
>>
>>39985560
Pretty good. I personally prefer male nurses, as do some of my other male colleague, but it's very quickly becoming saturated, so hurry up and get in, you're in demand now.

Is the bridge program to pa worth doing later?
>>
>>39985578
Wow, is that real? What would be an actual reason for that to happen? No parental leave, so they would work without worrying about newborns?

Have you tried North Dakota or Alberta?

Chemical Engineer, do a lot of contract work.

Get your PE as fast as possible engibros that's where a lot of the really cool engineering is.
>>
i'm not sure to be honest, I don't know anyone that has done it. It makes sense to do, but I feel most nurses reach this point and become content with their work due to the satisfaction and pay. There is a strong Pro-nursing lobby working to constantly give more work and liberty for nurses, I can only see nursing as a profession becoming more involved and extensive in the coming years, as will the demand.>>39985612

MD reporting in. Wards kill your gains.
>>
>>39985634
I personally enjoy working with guys more, nothing against women, but I can be more blunt and at ease with them. As for why it's a general trend, I think it's because the stigma is almost entirely gone and people are seeing how productive nurses are. as to why guys are more desired, it's just a diversity issue. I don't mean to come off as shovenistic, but like many other jobs, nursing I feel is also another job done better by men, but that's just my opinion.
>>
>>39985705
it's a fucking struggle man, I just remember watching scrubs and remembering COX, and the ortho guys are no slackers when it comes to being /fit/, so I stick with them more often, hoping their gains rub off on me.

That's a lame excuse, women can do strenght training. I remember that was the reason given in my country to avoid police women riding all terrain bikes because if they fell then they wouldn't be able to lift the bike, so all of them ride vespas.

Well, years passed and now they ride those same heavy bikes because it was a stupid reason: if they can lift it, then they passed a simple test and hop and ride. Same goes with any physical test in any job.

Some teeth are so damn hard to remove even men sweat their asses to pull them out. Should women be forbidden to become dentists because of this? No, because that's when proper technique and force maneuvers come in handy.

Your reasoning is just arbitrary discrimination, and that shit can be litigated in any country in the western hemisphere and be won.

Besides, you're probably in murica, if your average joe falls over you still need a forklift to lift 400 pounds of fatass lol.

>women can

but don't

there goes the rest of your comment lol

Women are weaker than men in general. Fewer women lift vs. men. We're different. Get over it.
