I recently found an article written by Joe DeFranco, a highly respected coach and trainer.

He recommends that an athlete's diet should be based around: blueberries, sweet potatoes, salmon, broccoli and dark chocolate.
He also recommends consuming almond milk and almond butter over milk and peanut butter.
What are your thoughts on this? What foods do you base your diet around?
