Depends on your goals and how you go about it.
If you're doing a ketogenic cut like I am, most of your calories are from fat as long as you're below maintenance. Just watch out for hidden carbs and certain sources of polyunsaturated fat, especially with a high Omega 6/3 ratio. Oh and get decent protein too.

I'm not sure if I would recommend ketosis for bulking though unless you have a craving problem. Slow carbs before workouts with protein seem to help muscle growth.

But in the end it does come down to calories in vs out. Just realize that which foods you eat tweak your hormones and metabolism in different ways.

Yesterday I ate some eggs, reheated menudo, and seared rib-eye steak accompanied by a bunch of green vegetables.

I don't really watch fat, but I'm making gains (slowly), have more energy, and am loosing fat.

About 100g is my goal. Was losing weight (former fatty), beginning a bulk today and probably I'll keep it at 100g. That's the ideal, but I never go below 85g. That's mostly in healthy fats, btw.

I'm not doing keto, just a high-fat diet to try and boost test/libido. Seems to have worked, libido is through the roof, but can't know for sure it's the fat. Whatever, I can feast on pb and guac so it's all good...
