is strong lifts 5x5 a good program to get my squat to 225lbs and my dl to 315?
ss is better

dude you can lift with no program and get to those stats within 6 months
>>39950790
>6 months
fucking dyel
I got those stats with calisthenics in 3 months
5x5 is a meme. 3x5 is good enough for strength. I only do 5x5 when I have to deload and add more volume to a previous weight.
>>39950698
No, it's a good program if you can progress from session to session.

Well isn't 5x5 also usually 3x5 but you add two warmup sets at lower weight
SS got my squat to 100kg, 3x5 with perfect form. I then went onto grey-skulls and now squat 145kg 3x5, bench 95kg 3x5, and DL 170kg.
Went greyskulls since i not only want strength but aesthetics.

What is even the point of this message?

That asking questions w/r/t completely arbitrary measures such as hitting a 2pl8 squat or 3pl8 deadlift is a bad way to determine effectiveness of programming.
