How good is zinc and how long should it take to see effects

I'm no expert but I was taking 50mg for a bit. Started getting abnormally horny around 3 days in but it bottomed out after the second week. Now I just take the 15mg in my multivitamin.

if you're deficient, shouldn't take too long (1-3 days)
zinc is pretty good, yeah. i'd supplement it at 15-30mg/day (always lower values unless you're very deficient) if you're not getting any natural source of zinc in your diet. this usually happens when people forego red meat.

id worry more about the lack of enzymes & cofactors when ingesting micronutrients via supplementation compared to whole food desu
besides, a lot of multis don't have the most bio-available forms of the 'important' vitamins/minerals, and barely even hit the RDA (which is woefully inadequate, i might add) for them
that being said, i don't see anything wrong with taking something like a $10/365 caps as cheap insurance, as long as you're eating a wide variety of nutritient-dense whole foods. but plenty of bodybuilders will just eat chicken breast + broccoli for the majority of their meals and think a multi will cover the rest.

From my personal experience of taking zinc, I've found that my erections get rock hard. Not that I had any erectile problems, I've always been able to get hard pretty easily. So when I say my penis gets rock hard, there's a noticeable difference since supplementing with zinc. That rock hard feeling is pretty great in itself, it makes me feel big and adequate/confident even though I'm around 5 inches. I'd say my sex drive went up to some degree as well but can't necessarily say that zinc is the reason for that. I guess I can't claim zinc is responsible for my stronger erections either but it seems likely. Take what I say with a grain of salt though and just try it yourself and see the results. I supplement not everyday but usually like 3 days each week with about 25 mg.
