good fibre and a bit of protein

still eat some meat with it tho, I'll typically cook up a big shit mix of brown rice, lentils, chick peas, beans, and some kind of meat for the week for my main meals

thankfully not

As long as you don't have digestive issues/FODMAP intolerance (oligosaccharides specifically), they're fantastic. Cheap, dat FIBRE providing a healthy insulin response, not bad protein for a carb source, and versatile.

No set recommendation just include them in your carb rotation along with whole grains, tubers, vegetables, and some simple sugars if you so desire sometimes. I made a black bean/corn/quinoa pot the other day that was delicious with spices.
>>

fucking love me some farty beans.
Always making chili with red, giant white and pinto beans on cheat days

or just beans, rice and hotsauce to help get the macros done
>>

Awesome. Great way of getting extra protein and fibre in your diet as well as some complex carbs. Cheap and nutritious. Just remember to combine them with either wholegrains if staying veggie or meat/fish, since they're not a complete protein.
>>

Pulses. So beans, lentils, peas, etc.

A legume (/ˈlɛɡjuːm/ or /ˌləˈɡʲuːm/) is a plant or fruit/seed in the family Fabaceae (or Leguminosae). Legumes are grown agriculturally, primarily for their grain seed called pulse, for livestock forage and silage, and as soil-enhancing green manure. Well-known legumes include alfalfa, clover, peas, beans, lentils, lupin bean, mesquite, carob, soybeans, peanuts, and tamarind.
