Can't stand this cunt

I used to like him but in the last year he's turned into a bit of a dick. Since he was on comedine with me and deadlifted if front of arnold, he seems to think he's a superstar

Saying that I think he could have easily been 2nd at the last world's strongest man if he didn't have 3 dislocated fingers. Thor ain't shit
>>
I just watched the documentary about him last night. I like the guy. Hope he wins next year.
>>
He only got 3rd because Big Z wasn't competing.
>>
>>39930102
I don't think so anon. If big Z competed and Hall's fingers were fine, he still would have gotten 3rd. Everyone keeps saying how Thor is going to dominate the sport soon and he'll win next year, but he never does. Thor only beat Eddie because Eddie scored no points on the first event due to his hand. The next few years will be a fight between Shaw and Savickas for first place with Hall coming third
>>
>>39930149
Maybe, but this year has a few younger, leaner guys who will be competitive in the future if they just get a little bit stronger.

Nope.

You will continue to see Thor's static strength rise. He has a larger skeleton and more real estate to build muscle.

Eddie hall is out of room. He has maxed the amount of solid meat that will fit on his frame, and it costs him hard on events that require endurance.

You cannot simply infinitely pack meat onto a frame and expect it all to be useful. There is a rule of diminished returns.

The reason Thor hasn't won yet is because he spent too much offseason time in the last few years traveling all over the place and sort of living a "star" lifestyle.

That's what is getting in his way from progressing, fuckarounditis. Up until recently that is. Very recently Thor has put together his own gym, and is working with both Stand Efferding and Sebastian Oreb. He's finally buckling down and focusing more on what he needs to do to win.

He's been steadily building his static strength over this offseason, and his grip too. Expect him to put up heavier numbers at the AC this year, and very likely he will manage to conquer the Oak - which will move him way up in the placings.

Serious question:

Which sport is worse for your overall health, strong,an or professional bodybuilding?
>>
>>39930627

both are terrible. I would say bodybuilding, only because they are more likely to abuse Tren, and the casualty list for IFBB Pro's is worse than that for strongmen over the last 10 years.

Being a strongman is still a terrible idea for health. Everyone of these guys has to mitigate the effects of being super heavy. They take Cialis or other meds to control blood pressure, they need to do LISS cardio, AND on top of that almost all of them own a CPAP. - this can help out, but there is no way to completely get around the sides.

Anabolics abuse it just as bad in both, but bodybuilders overly rely on things like Tren, which causes arterial inflammation. Ask anyone who has ever run a lot of Tren, it saps your cardio. Strongmen tend to avoid and limit it, as they need endurance for training and events.

More importantly strongmen don't fuck around with diuretics like bodybuilders. Lots of bodybuilders suffer terrible long term kidney damage from this practice.

Then there is SEO like synthol and its cousins. Further inflammation and build of of scar tissue.

Strongmen need to at least stay athletic enough to have some speed on relay racing events, and to pull a heavy object up to 2 minutes at maximum intensity without gassing. Not that they got good endurance, lets say it's "less shitty" than a bodybuilders.

So... both are terrible, especially at the Pro-Level, but bodybuilding is arguably a little bit worse.

You lads are forgetting that Thor would have won WSM this year if he hadn't tried to go too fast on the KB throw. All he had to do was throw all of them, but he got too nervous and fucked it up. That's the only reason he came second.
>>
>>39930627
They can both be bad. Excess or too little fat are both bad. Steroids aren't as bad as people think though, but their diets aren't great
>>
>>39930753

No, Thor hadn't worked enough on his grip strength and it cost him hard in the 1st finals event. He's got the biggest hands in the lineup, so no excuse, he simply neglected it.

It is true that in the KB throw he got too nervous, that also could have been his win.

So far his coming in 2nd has been due to very close margins.

He needs more static strength (he's already eclipsing Shaw on OHP work) and to work on his grip. Basically buckle down and focus more off his offseason on building strength, and not fuckarounditis.
>>
>>39930756

For strongmen having the ultra heavy bodyweight is the worst issue.

Followed by the taxing of their CNS regularly.

Then last is the drugs.

For bodybuilders:

Heavy bodyweight

Sometimes taxing CNS if they train heavy like Ronnie Coleman style.

Diuretics. - major issues there

Starvation dieting

Yoyo dieting

The over use of stimulants to push them through workouts while starving

Even higher doses of harsher more toxic anabolics as they could care less about endurance of training capacity.

It will be interesting to see if you're right but I'm not holding my breath. I predict he will continue to say he's going to dominate yet he will continue to lose to Shaw, Big Z and soon Hall. Next year when he loses everyone will say the same thing: oh next year he'll really try!

>Thor is already eclipsing Shaw on OHP work
I don't think this is even slightly true. The only thing Thor excels at or is the best at, is atlas stones. Everything else he gets regularly beaten by one or more people. Eddie Hall seems to be dominating deadlifts and OHP events. Shaw and Big Z will dominate everything else. That leaves the atlas stones for Thor and maybe a 2nd place on keg toss
>>
>>39931267

Thor does try hard... generally about 60 days before a big contest through contest day. His issue has been fucking around in the offseasons.

> Thor passing Shaw on the overhead

It's completely true. Thor beat Brian Shaw in the Circus Barbell at last years WSM, and he came even closer to the Oak than Shaw did at the AC, Thor got it all the way to the top, just didn't get locked. Shaw didn't quite get it to the top.

Granted Shaw did get the OAK a few years ago, but the weight has gone up since.

If for any reason Thor doesn't win it's not because of potential. He has the biggest frame out there. This is all dependent on if he can devote the time and consistency.

He sort of reminds me of those guys who are so genetically gifted in a sport that they don't really learn to outwork the competition. Genetics carried them so far that they can be lazy, and don't push passed to the very top. Where a lot of guys who are close to as gifted realize they need to outwork the competition, and that work ethic is what carries them through.

Eddie Hall has been very devoted to the sport, much more consistent with his training and more focused. This is why he's pulled 1100.

That doesn't mean it will transfer to everything else however, or that he can keep making such increases. Right now Eddie Hall's frame is maxed out on the amount of muscle that fit on it.
