Have any of you experience anxiety over joining a gym? If so how did you over come it?
You end up going there and most people look like beginners and not much more so than yourself, no one looks like zyzz or jeff, and they mostly do routines involving 10 pound dumbells. dont believe the shit you read of here no one is deadlifting more than 2 plate, or benching more than 1. just go and improve yourself, you gotta start somewhere, i get anxiety everytime i go to a new gym and have no idea why but it goes away once you are there.

i had it pretty bad but i just persevered. going with my brother and a friend really helped. started out lifting 5 pounds and now I am safe to say one of the top lifters at my gym.

I experience anxiety over doing anything new. I just remind myself that if I don't do it now, I'll regret it a week from now, a year from now, etc.
