I'm looking to get in shape for some backpacking I'll be doing this summer. I'm 6'2", 180 lbs, currently kinda flabby. My plan is to do 10 push ups, 15 crunches, and 20 squats three times a day.
After two days, my chest muscles are sore and the push ups are noticeably harder. I'm wondering if I should take days off, dial back just the push ups, or just power through.
My plan does not include cardio because I live somewhere balls cold and I know realistically I will not follow through with any running / biking this winter.
Any advice is appreciated!
I get that /fit/ doesn't like casual exercisers, but c'mon, we all start somewhere!
nah fuck you

ideally push through, if not just dial back, the soreness will go away pretty quickly

Thank you! I'll do that for a while.
Not too hopeful for more than one helpful reply.

Aww com'n govnor. I'm 5'11" and probably 100lb heavier than you. Stay in the front leaning rest for as long as you can.
Just pretend you're in army basic training. You think DS gives a shit if you find it difficult? Do you want to be the guy caught goldbricking while the rest of the platoon is pushing? Get down and push maggot, fuck your soreness. 30PU/day is nowhere near overtraining.
Make sure you're consuming enough protein. Nothing ridiculous, just a bit more than your usual.
Fuk off, normie. I bet your biceps aint even 15 inches. You don't even lift.
