What is better for overall size?
A split or full body routine?
If you're asking this, you're a total beginner and should read the sticky

Splits are for intermediate+ lifters who are on roids and are trying to increase volume... And bro's who fell for the meme

It has nothing to do with what kind of split you do, what matters is the total volume (reps) in your sessions, granted the weight is at 65% of your 1 rep max. Pick the one you can fit in more volume in a split (via supersets and training to failure), since I'm assuming your designing the program yourself.

I dont know

I'd go full body until your noon gains dry up. Then move on to something like ppl or Upper lower. The problem with full body as an intermediate is the volume IMO. Unless you superset everything and take no rest between sets you'll be at the gym for hour and a half minimum.

If you are a beginner: fullbody
If you milked your newbie gains: You can decide. But don't fall for the brosplit meme. If you split things up, do it in a way that you still train every muscle group 2 times per week. I prefer Upper-Lower splits where you go 4 times per week to the gym.

why 2 times a week per body part? I train 5 days a week, hitting each bodypart once in those 5 days. I've been able to make way better gains this way.

Depends how many times you wanna hit the gym per week.
1-3 times -> full body
4 -> upper/lower or push/pull
5 -> phat
6 -> push/pull/legs
