In my opinion this is could be the most beautiful sculpture of the ancient times. There is something deeply aesthetically pleasing about the proportions of this physique, but I can't really say what exactly. Is it the long and muscular legs? The tensed and muscular torso? It is sad that no recreation of any sculptor was satisfactory.
If even Michaelangelo refused to make an attempt at recreating the sculpture, then nobody can.
