That's rotational force, you barely have to put force into it.
Some of those exercises may be decent to train balance and movement finesse, but it's shit for any serious strength training.

If you want to be aesthetic, fuck functionality. If you want to powerlift, deadlift, squat, bench and variations of those 3 are functional. If you oly lift, clean, jerk, snatch, squat and variations will be functional. I dunno about other sports but the movement patterns he displayed don't seem specific to any sport and seem more like some gimmicky shit that's made for people who'd fall for crossfit.

Functional has just become a buzzword nowadays.
There was a PT at my gym making her client do Russian Twists and she was just saying "yeah and this is a very functional exercise" like it actually means anything at all. It's just a buzzword to make your exercise seem exclusive and useful.
