Is it bad to do chin ups between OHP set ?
When doing OHP, the spine is compressed by the weight, and when doing chin up the back is extended under the bodyweight
I feel like alternating traction and compression of the spine isn't healthy. Is it ?
Thanks

Yes you will die

Chinups also tire out your upper back, including rear delts. There's nothing wrong with it but it's a bad superset combo

implying fatigue is bad

these guys always have shit form

1 plate though

I usually superset my Lat Pulldown and OHP warmups, but I wouldn't do so for worksets.

1) Brian Alsruhe always does this.
2) Jim Wendler often does this (even with bench press).

Alternating between compression and traction is what helps the intervertebral discs stay lubricated and enhances flow of nutrients and metabolic waste. So its actually really healthy for you, silly. We are made to move. Stop being a pussy.

unless you are doing submaximal sets of chins i wouldn't do it
chins take a lot out of me if I do hard sets, too much to then press heavy

Noob here. How is the form bad?

Watch Brian Alsruhe's videos about giant sets. He trains like this pretty exclusively. And he strict presses like 3 plate and does weighted neutral grip triples with like 190 lbs.

Grip too wide, elbows not in front of the bar enough.
