I started lifting two years ago, the first year I did some basic P/P/L and Candito's linear program, and after plateauing I switched to 5/3/1 in the second year.
Now I've had two fairly shitty months, with colds and flu and other distractions and I haven't made it to the gym except for a few times. I've lost both mass and strength, probably 20% at this point, so I am basically a beginner again. Continuing with 5/3/1 seems like a bad idea, since it is sooo slow, so my question is: should I go back to some basic linear program and add 2.5-5kg twice a week? Or what would be the best strategy get back to where I was, in the shortest amount of time? Any other tips outside of routine?
Bump, there must be at least one other person on /fit/ that actually lifts?

Sure, do a linear program again for like a month or two. A good amount of your strength should return by then, then just move on to an intermediate routine from there

Does her shirt say kuck u? Lmao
Yes, do LP after a layoff. It's the fastest way to get back.
>forced layoff for major surgery
>no lifting for three fucking months
>start with the bar on all lifts
>setting new PRs five months later

Cool, thanks, I'll try that.

I think it says "RUCKUS".
yes, that's what I always do after a longer break. just do SS until you almost get stuck, then change to your regular routine. there's no reason to get stuck or do deloads.
