Medicine

Outrageously keen. Don't get me wrong, the human body is fascinating, and I love what I do. But I really don't know how some people have the relentless energy to work that they do. After getting up at some god awful hour, working a normal working day (for free, I'm not getting paid. Technically I'm paying 9 grand a year to come to work), exercise and dinner - I have the energy for like a couple hours revision before flagging. Some people I know are working from the moment they get up to the moment they go to sleep. You've honestly never seen anything like it.

Biomedical Engineering

Weak and unathletic
>>
>>39811096

everyone is antisocial and skinny
>>
Computer Science

antisocials, autists, faggots, ugly and annoying women

the occasional cool guy I made friends with

I did my time, now it's time to make my money
>>
Physics

I dont know any of them
>>
>>39811096
Chemistry

Male dominated (but not to the same extent as physics, engineering, compsci)
Only one fatass, who traveled around on a mobility scooter
Very few autists for a STEM course but no chads either. Everyone was just "normal"
I was easily the most /fit/ although most guys did some kind of sport
>>
Mathematics

Surprisingly diverse
>>
>>39811096
Computer Science and Business it's a mix of obnoxious faggots and losers (70%) and some really cool dudes and hit chicks.
>>

B.S. in biology

pretty good population distribution of people types really

Currently getting my M.S.P.S in Biotechnology.

There's like 4 of us, one is like me that lifts a bunch but also drinks a bunch. Other 2 are quiet, odd, and friendly.
>>
PharmD
4:1 female to male ratio
Cute wife material girls
Guys were mostly scrawny arabs
The few guys who did lift stood out
Group study led to loads of sex after tests
>>
Economics

Ugly boyz everywhere. Frail as well.
>>
I doubled in Math and Finance

Math is v diverse, like the other anon said a couple posts up. Some of my classes have more dudes in them, but in general its like 60-50/40-50 guys/girls. The girls are fairly normally distributed in terms of attractiveness. You could say the same about the guys I guess. I know a bunch of Math majors who lift. Most of them are pretty dorky and weird/awkward.

Finance is 50% frat bros, 30% weird dudes, 15% cool guys, 5% girls. most of the guys look like they lift.

Finance

Electronic Engineering, in UK.

Unathletic Skinny Nerds, and unathletic fat nerds. Coolest guy on the course was a Romanian dude who played football. I was a runner.

Rednecks, burnouts, and a handful of decent people. The decent people and I got jobs before graduating.

a lot of fucking annoying farm kids most of whom are incognito xenophobic, but there were some decent people too. City people were usually nice but fuck all asian women, they are the scum of the earth and I don't know why anyone tolerates their existence

i was just the quiet skinny guy in a sea of 80% women, didn't mingle a lot with people in my program, all but 1 of my friends are in different majors
>>
Currently studying business. Going to transfer over to law enforcement and later get a degree on something useful in that field.

Business school is full of frat bros, kids whose parents are rich and lol moneys people in general. Not my type of bunch, everyone is giving minimum effort in classes and tries to ride on people who actually do study.

Geography and Urban Studies - bunch of bleeding heart liberals and alternative people

Business Administration

Second to Physical Therapy in the amount of frat like parties, most people don't give a shit and are going the whole "C's get degrees" route.

I'm doing it so when I get into law school I can have a diverse portfolio, but still nobody gives a shit. It could be worse though, gender studies still tops the charts in retards per square inch.
>>
math

the guys are mostly skinny alternative nerd guys and autists

the girls are mostly fat except for the ones in math education
>>
>>39811096
Masturbation.

Not much social interaction but the people I studied usually have low self esteem, self worth and would go to great lenghts to get small amounts of cash.
>>

very similar to this >>39812270 except there were granola people in some of our classes because we had alternative heating methods and grey water systems

Most of my classmates are actually not ugly, most of the girls are though. Almost all of them think they are way more important then they actually are though. Only like 1% lift.
>>
Theology
People are nice, but not really the "party and drinking"-types.
I only know 2 other guys who work out, but theres also some cardio bunnies.
>>
>>39812236
I think it's for a desire for status or to live up to the standards their parents put on them. My nephew and his newly wed bought a lawyer practice and work atleast 14 hours a day just to be able to pay off the loans they got to buy the practice. Their parents are filthy rich and succesfull. It's also the reason the girl married him, she doesn't really like him bit was pressured by her family to marry someone else from a prestigious family.
I'm really close with her and she tells me everything. We also fool around behind everyones back at family gatherings.
Most of these people actually hate their lives but are in too deep and are really afraid to dissapoint their family. Last christmas she said me fucking her raw is the most exiting and "dangerous" thing she's ever done and is the only time she feels alive.
Feel pretty bad for her desu.
>>
>>39811096
History.

A lot of girls and beta looking "intellectual" males.

Philosophy

A bunch of potheads being potheads, a bunch of women that are acting like men to show they're not weak, lots of vegans and one guy that lifts. Most are pretty cool. The rest is garbage.

Perhaps because some matters are shared between the two fields.

>>
culinary arts

really dumb idea. if you can cook, you cook for years and eventually have enough experience to chef. if you have a degree in culinary arts, you cook for years and eventually have enough experience to chef. schooling makes 0 difference, and working in kitchens is severely overworked and underpaid.

but the dorms were 80% female, 19% fat/retarded guys. not a lot of competition, so i had a good time.
>>
>>39812432
That's interesting, I mainly asked that because my mom has been on my ass about school and whatnot. She keeps asking why it seems like I don't care/why do you not work hard like other people's children/there are wealthy children who still work hard so why can't you.

I just wanted some insight into how some of those people really think.
>>
>>39811096
Petroleum engineering. A lot of hick nerds but thats because I went to WVU
>>
Music management. A lot of hipsters. lots of People who think they're special or alternative. Could mostly only talk about music and take themselves a bit too serious sometimes, + a lot of attention Whores. But always Found some really cool People as Well, I think it's just my inability to cope with The same People for too long.
>>
Electrical Engineering. Lots of unathletic skinny or fat or both nerds, quite a few pakis who are getting a degree here and are funded by their home country. Surprisingly, one of the only buff dudes I met here was this paki who is definitely on gear.

I remember my first two years I saw a few buff dudes and even a few girls in my intro courses and then realized later on that they were civil or mechanical engineers and I would never see them again. The ones that were doing electrical just dropped out because they are weak willed.

I'm going to start studying business this coming fall semester. Every day I read sales/finance books for at least two hours, watch interviews with successful people and apply to every sales internship known to man (within 10 miles). I genuinely wish to succeed in the business world but your words discourage me; will the education be as lackluster as those who study it? Environmental Science

Pretty diverse group, split about 50/50 guys and girls.

Mostly nice, genuine people.
>>
>>39812053
Also chemsitry seconding this, but half the people either drink hard or do drugs since we're all getting cancer anyways
>>
Geology

50/50 split, nice people with the occasional basement dweller, lifter here and there, people in general kinda fit, field trips involving long hikes with equipment sort out the fatties
>>
>>39811096
I'm in Engineering.

The people here are fucking horrible. THe few girls get orbited like fuck unless they band together to repel the weirdos. I have a gf and I'm /fit/ so I get used as an anti neckbeard shield.

Half of these faggots won't stop referring to themselves as engineers, despite us only just finishing fucking first year.

Around half of them have a superiority complex. that makes them think they're better than everybody because they're eng students, despite all of us being engineering students too.

A lot of them think being able to solve maths problems in a controlled environment is all there is to this course. I'm not the best at that, and the amount of flak I've copped for it is honestly fucking ridiculous. Nevermind the fact that every single groupwork assignment I've ended up doing a lot of the coordinating and managing for these autists, because they're basically fucking incapable of solving problems or coming up with ideas. It got to the point where I had to tell a guy exactly what to research for our assignment and where he could find the information; he fucking boarderline plagiarized it so hard the teacher seriously considered having us redo it. That's happened more than once.

The few bros I've met all seem to be the dudes who had girlfriends or social lives before entering this hellhole. There are also a few semi-racist rich which fucks who went to private schools who look down on me because I went to a public school. It's actually kinda funny, since they're invariably kinda shit at this. Nobody really likes them, especially since our school has a high amount of exchange students and they are really fucking racist.

There are a few normies too, but they kinda annoyed me. They're loud and seem to form one or two cliques like we're back in bloody highschool. I think I'm just salty since I was in a class without my friends with a bunch of them, and I found out they made shitty jokes about me sitting alone.
>>
>>39812779
I go to a huge party school and I'm in a fraternity so I see a lot of qts on the daily

>>39812791
I'd love to be a politician honestly
>>
>>39812844
cont because I'm fucking raging now and can't stop.

The fact that I sat alone to focus on that classs (which was a very hard class for me) instead of talking about the toga party only 15 people showed up to apparently wasn't good enough for them.

Also, a lot of them have no interests bar engineering. Half of them are choosing minors that will help them in eng, which is fine, but their reasoning isn't that they think they'll enjoy them; their reasoning is that they'll help them be an engineer better. While that's OK, it's very soulless. A lot of them also don't seem to enjoy engineering. They just want the money and status they associate with it.

Me and a roidbro are literally the only lifters in that entire fucking faculty too. There are a few people who go to the gym and do meme routines you'd find in men's fitness but they don't know a think about nutrition or how to lift. One of my friends is setting up a home gym, though, so I might have a lifting buddy eventually. Everybody in our school's lifting club also looks like a tremendous dyel faggot too.
Jesus christ I hate so many of these people. They're so rage inducing. Every day something new happens that makes me get angry.
>>
>>39812236
adderall
>>
>>39812884
lmao I do engineering too and I can sorta echo this sentiment

No one really lifts except for the chad white people, and most people in the entire course have this holier-than-thou "I'm an enlightened engineer" attitude despite the only engineering we've actually done is a bit of physics and mostly calculus (just finished first year).

There's no girls here, thank fuck I'm double-degreeing with economics/finance (Ausfag)
>>
>>39812776
More likely, he meant "hot"
>>
>>39812917
Hey, I'm an Ausfag too! I'm in Melbourne, so everybody here is a hipster.

But yeah, you definitely get me. The holier than thou attitude is honestly the biggest peeve I have with these guys. It's like they just can't understand that getting into engineering isn't what makes them an engineer. It's finishing the damn course.

I'm pretty new to lifting, so I don't exactly look huge, but among engineering students I'm probably more /fit/ than half of them, despite a lot of them "hitting the gym". And by that I mean using machines and dumbbells. Really frustrating. It's like being surrounded by permanent NYEfags.

Electronic Engineering.

A lot of arrogant assholes with superiority complexes, due to it being probably the most reputable course in the university, and it makes the most money. Heavily male-dominated, only two girls.

Very competitive and full of high achievers, you can tell most of these guys were top of their class in high school.

There's one other guy I see at the gym regularly. Mainly does body weight stuff, he's a black belt in some obscure martial art I've never heard of. Pretty cool guy, if a bit intense.

I'm very competitive myself so I fit right in I guess.
>>
Visual Arts

Everyone is above average with money, lots of depressed/neurotic/anxious people, some are potheads, but less than people imagine, good sense of fashion, most are leftists, blasé look in their eyes, 1/3 is gay, everyone is very kind in general but a bit selfish, some are really engaged in very specific shit like knowing everything about chinese astrology, or minerals, or how to build wooden boats, or working on radical ecology projects. In /fit/ terms, some are skeleton mode, but most are normie mode and there are almost no fat people. Practically no one lifts or even cares about it, some disdain it, but overall people are active, they do yoga, some dance or martial art, or simply heavy work in their workshops.

Very interesting people, I like them. The major problem is basically that people are anxious and you can tell everyone is about to drop their spaghetti. We ourselves are trying to understand why is that so.
>>
>accounting
lots of asians and jews, barely any blacks
lots of antisocials. they do nothing other than study, study, study
everyone is delusional in the way that they think they will get a high paying job with their 3.8GPA right out of college and wont start off at entry level doing bookkeeping shit
>>

Electrical Engineering

Surprisingly diverse. I go to a top 5 program in the US, so there were your fair share of geniuses who excelled at academics. There were a good number of frat bros and Chads, a huge number of international kids who were all ripped for some reason and a ton of normies who studied all the time. Pretty good people overall. The few women were weird as hell though
>>
Chemical Engineering

Went to a top 5 engineering school so everybody was really smart and a hard worker. Was probably the rare mix of really cool and outgoing people but still interested in what they do. Not socially awkward and also not super competitive. Generally really friendly.

Not too many people went to the gym though. Despite having an awesome gym facility I think it was just me and like 6 other dudes in my year of a group of 80 of which 50 were guys.

Freshman year: Exactly what you'd expect. Smelly. Fattties. Slobs. Autism. Barley any women, most with blue hair. People with no direction but 'like computers.' Lazy assholes. I purposefully asked for a dorm room in a different hall than the engineering majors.

Once the herd starts thinning because the tards flunked out for playing games all day the crowd got better.

Of the people that made it to graduation: Socially competent nerds, some even partied and were well-adjusted enough, just a bit boring to hang out with. There were a few irredeemable shut-ins.

Finance and International Business

I live in NYC so it's a good finance center. I was considering comp sci at one point but I knew I couldn't defeat the hoard of Indians so I decided to make use of tits and my poly linguistic advantage. I was born Korean, speak read and write it fluently. Learned advanced spanish in HS and MS. Learned Chinese in college and speak fluent english. It's nice to take 1 hr lunch breaks.

Only downside is I have to do random business phone calls at night back to Asia and my entire group is white men and older white women (it's literally nothing else up there)

I've been thinking about going for that field mainly because I am getting sick and tired of my accounting field.

Music Performance. Specifically Jazz Studies.

Music in general is full of cucks, but a handful are cool people. Some girls are hot, but not worth it at all. Some people go to the gym and do god-awful routines, but I'm pretty DYEL so I don't criticize. That just pushes me to work harder and show off my gains.

Music is a meme degree and no one should do it. I'm trying to get out as fast as I can to get an MBA or start my own business.

Computer science and theatre double major. The CS students are almost stereotypical skellies or fat fucks that are pretty antisocial and into basic nerd stuff. Filmmaking (or screenwriting in particular)

It was full of casuals who have no love for the craft and got there because they can't do anything else or because they think it's something cool and hip or because the profession is in the family or some bullshit like that. The professors were also hacks. All in all it was disappointing. I thought I'd meet like-minded people passionate about this stuff and all I met was idiots.

Being a CS major doesn't necessarily imply those characteristics; I chose to live in the social dorms my freshman year which gave me a bunch of finance/business friends who are pretty extroverted and enjoy having a good time. And the social CS people tend to find each other amongst the hordes of aspies we're surrounded by. You rarely see writers/English majors getting shit for being introverted and on the autistic spectrum, but their work is very similar to that of the typical programmer, with the programming just requiring a bit more intellectual acuity.

As far as long-term goals, I can't see myself programming for more than a decade as a profession; I plan to go back to school for my MBA and move into management. And if you can afford to live in one of the most decorated cities in the world, which is a cultural capital, and is the best for your profession, why wouldn't you leap at the opportunity?

History(in Argentina)

Most are 'intellectual' nerds, either in the social justice type of persona or in the 'alt-right' type. The SJWs are usually more sociable and better looking, and they usually "work" in political organizations(the term is 'militar', I don't think there's a translation for that). The 'alt rights' are a varied spectrum that goes from meme sprouting retards to fit people that are secretly fascist.
Few beautiful girls. Most are average looking or lower. They are ""free"", and have low standards, so getting laid isn't that hard. There is the ocassional sexopath and some really hysterical girls.
Some people do lift, some scrawny hippies populate the place, there is the occassional old man who does it because he has time and wants to know stuff. You can find actual, genuine nerds(like in the stereotype) and some very intelligent and eloquent people.

It's overall a pretty hetereogeneus place. I like it.

Money gives you the freedom and power to do what you want. If you believe otherwise you are a naive fool.

>literally only doing things for money

This might be hard to comprehend for a low IQ moron, but some people actually find it interesting. Personally I'm interested in a lot of different areas. My favourite subject in school was actually French. I'll probably use my electronic engineering degree to go into finance, which I considered studying initially until I realised that doing a degree in anything non-STEM is a waste of time if you want a good career.

The ideal is good money AND an interest in what you do. You need to consider what you like but you also need a healthy does of realism.

If I was to choose purely on interest, then I would have studied Philosophy. However that likely would have led to a shitty job with no real prospects. I want money. I'm not wrong for wanting money. I come from a working class background where poor people get fucked by society every day. I don't want to be like them.

Instead I can read comfy /lit/erature in my spare time, while also having other hobbies like boxing, basketball, weightlifting and playing the piano.

I took classes with students from other majors like math, physics, Chem, bio, psych, business, political science, and the engineering types.
bio and chem majors have the hottest girls. Political science has some as well. Math is probably the most diverse, from fat to skinny men and women all ages all sizes. Business is mostly men and women are meh. Psych is prob up there with bio and Chem girls. Computer, electrical engineering have skinny and fat nerds, ugly chicks and probably 2 average or a little above average. Civil engineering has the hottest guys no homo, girls are disgusting tho. Finally, mechanical engineering, it's just like fit. Meatheads and autists, but you also have the rednecks and fattys, average to below average girls.
I almost forgot construction management, tonssssss of girls this is the place to be. The girls here look like total sluts but they are fucking hot. If you want a girl closer to your anime fantasies then go ahead to the Chem and bio department,, if you want sluts then go to construction management

Get to know the people in your major. A lot of people drop out of physics because they think they're not capable of it, and everyone around them is smarter. I got to know everyone in my physics department, and it turns out, everybody is fucking as confused as I am. Then, you guys can get together, do homework with each other, help each other understand different materials, do a little on lab reports and so on. That's the best method for doing well in physics, getting to know the people around you and helping one another. Because after university, you're not gonna be doing physics alone, you'll be with others working on some kind of project together whether it's for research, medicine, business, etc.

Sorry to break it to you, but medicine is a meme and has been for a long time. It'd be worth it if the process to become a doctor isn't as soul crushing as a lifetime of wageslaving.
For the first few years, you'll get a bachelors and probably will be stuck with a bunch of retarded premeds that you're going to compete with to get into med school. Hanging around retards is bad since you have nobody to talk to aside from mentally unstable people who've been helicoptered by their parents into getting an MD. Hanging around people as smart as you is bad because of competition. Pre-med competitive antics are annoying as fuck, like when they sabotage each others labs and grades. You'll have to study for a host of test like the MCAT and get recommendation letters from everyone you know and worry about leadership and extracurriculars and showing passion for poor. Good luck with writing an essay that isn't cliche'd. In the end, most of you won't even get in.
If you made it in, congratulations, you have 4 more years of memorizing ass. Done? OK just do some residency for 3 to 7 years depending on how retarded you are. Then congrats you are officially a doctor at 30 years old. And you have a fuckton of debt.
Now during your practice you realize you live in a country where people like to fuck you over by suing you for retarded shit. So half your salary goes to legal expenses. Let's not forget Obama trying to fuck you over as well. Whatever money you make, you won't get time to spend it since your constantly on call and have to wake up at 2 am to save someone's dick. Want to have fun? Sorry, you're bound by medical ethics and shit that essentially means you can't even talk to your patients like a normal fucking human being.
So essentially the system is set up so you can't be a doctor if you want money and stability. You must legitimately hate yourself and/or have a messiah complex, and if you don't already have a gaping anus, you'll get one.

Disregard the part about America, but the rest holds true. Do something useful like engineering.
>>
>>39818906
Your three choices tell me that you are money motivated.

Medicine is a bad decision. Takes too long to start making money.

Law, better decision if you're good at it, but you have to be good at it.

Close friend of mine has an internship with the top law firm in my country, but he's top 5 results wise out of 60 or so people and he's 6'1, DLs 190KG and is fairly charismatic on top of that. He'll make a shit ton of money.

Any of the mediocre people aren't going to get far in law.

Finance? This was my initial choice but it was more of quantitative degree than pure finance. Look at most open roles for the banks in your area and most look for "hard" skills, like programming languages and a high aptitude in difficult math. So they take on mainly STEM degrees. I decided on Computer Engineering because I like programming and I've always been gifted at math. Then you need to overload on extra curricular activities to prove you're not an autist. I was captain of my HS basketball team and I've started volunteering this semester.

Computer Engineering also gives me the ability to go into either computer hardware or computer software, both lucrative fields in their own right. An engineering degree is very well regarded on paper, just make sure it's ABET accredited. It's better regarded internationally than a computer science degree or pretty much any other degree. Don't let the autists here convince you otherwise.

>>39811096
Biological Sciences and Spanish (premed)

Two types of STEM majors, those who are getting in to med school and those who aren't. The former are smarter but less fun to hang out with the latter ball out for about three semesters and then switch to business. I studied with the former and partied with the latter.

Spanish was populated by a lot of decent looking chicks from a variety of different majors.

solid advice, however
>ABET accredited

this means nothing. All it means is you've written some papers and given some presentations and had a senior capstone project. If your school is anything like mine was, the capstone project doesn't even have to be novel or difficult or even time consuming. My buddies and I were done with 95% of our coding in one (1) week for a semester-long project. If you want to make yourself valuable, learn a bunch of languages and become more-than-proficient with at least one low-level language (C or C++, preferably) and at least one high-level language (Python, Java, etc.). Get some skills with web development, particularly JavaScript programming, and have a GitHub account with a few pet projects, some examples of difficult or experimental things you did during school (provided you're not prohibited from posting such stuff by contract or something), and stuff from your capstone project. Do some extracurriculars and actually have a life outside of gym/school.
>>
>>39819491
Great advice, I'd add one more thing: if this is unnatural, try to surround yourself with people smarter/better than you at working on side projects. Finding a group of friends who'll push you and keep you motivated has been super useful in my experience and forced me to get better at my craft.
>>
>>39819491
Oh, and learning some softer skills like development frameworks, different OSes, debugging tools, general software development procedures, etc. is also good. For example, if you're really into low-level stuff, VMs, optimization, etc., give Intel Pin a try and see what you can do with it. If you're into web stuff, make a really nice website from scratch (at least part of it if you want to show off your Bootstrap skills or some shit).

Oh, and this probably goes without saying, but be friendly with some of your professors EARLY on (sophomore year is a good time) purely for recommendation letters. Show up to office hours, ask and answer questions during class, answer questions on your class's help site (piazza or blackboard forums for example). Make an impact and show off your skills to your professors without behaving like a dick.

>>
>>39819491
Were you computer engineering or computer science?

I'm in Europe btw so things will be different, I just assumed ABET accreditation was important, we have different systems for accreditation here.

We've done a full semester of Java and a full semester of C, I would say I'm "proficient" in both. To be honest though, my software classes are by far my easiest. It's the hardware classes and the math classes that make the major difficult, for me at least. Not that I'm struggling (3.7 GPA equivalent).

There's no way I'd have the time to do extra projects outside of what I'm studying during the semester. I badly need to get a Github if I want to realistically compete with CS guys for software jobs though.

I now work as an office manager and do occasional advertising work.

CS. I'm betting you were taught the basics of those languages if they were semester-long courses. I would say I'm "proficient" in both C and Java after doing the following:
>Some faggot tech camp for middle-schoolers that was in Java, did this when I was about 10
>high-school course "AP Computer Science", entirely in Java
>Systems Programming course (Babby's First Course in C), semester long
>Programming Languages course (Babby's First Course in Java, with a week each of C, C++, and Python)
>Computer Graphics (50% C + OpenGL, 50% JavaScript + WebGL)
>Operating Systems (Basically a repeat of Systems Programming with a lot more theory)
>Run-Time Systems (Virtual Machines and How Computers Work, an advanced course in C that basically demonstrated how the JVM works and how to modify it. I learned a lot about both languages in this course)
>various pet projects like file processors in C and a script interpreter that interprets a language I came up with in Java

I wouldn't say I'm an expert with either of them yet, but I might be in a few years.

I'd suggesting getting into data science ASAP.

>>39814989
second year was the worst for me personally since everything is compulsory, incredibly boring but yet much harder than first year

third year of BSc and MSc gets much better since you can hand-pick courses you are interested in and that makes all the difference

also pro-tip: cosmology & astro-particle physics

it's all the fun of theoretical and particle physics but people & professors are much more normal and you still get to bad-mouth any experimental physicists
>>
>>39819650
I'd imagine you're more than proficient.

Our semesters are intense and we covered pretty much the entire Deitel & Deitel Java book. So I have a good understanding of the theory, but not a lot of practical experience, certainly not the amount you would have.

UmU?

You seem smart enough. Do your CtCI consistently for a few weeks/months and you'll be off to the races.

Is that your major? Like your college has a course on that?

I'm assuming it's not an undergraduate degree?

I'm >>39819433 btw, this is similar to where I want to end up

Thanks brah.
>>
>>39819839
Will be interesting to see.

I've got 2 full years left before graduation (CompE). Probably the hardest 2 years of my life. I want to do a masters in either CS or some kind of financial engineering
>>
>>39819888
Good luck! I might end up going for a MS or a PhD eventually but I need to move out of my parents' house first, so I probably should work in industry for a few years.

>Two types of STEM majors, those who are getting into med school and those who aren't

Not everybody in STEM wants to go to med school you retarded pre-med faggot.

But anon, all of STEM is biology, chemistry, or biochemistry. Everything else is just faggot shit.

what about a physician assistant masters?

Lads I need advice, I only have a year left in industrial engineering, but I realized I really want to work in business and finance. My grades aren't amazing (3.12 but I'll pul it up to a 3.2/3.3 before I graduate) and I plan to pick up a minor in finance or economics and get straight As in those classes, if I do this will I be able to get into graduate school for a masters in something like finance or accounting?

Anything biology related is easy science mostly dominated by women. Other STEM majors may be more dominated by men but at least you'll end up with a fucking job instead of the small chance of getting into med school and becoming a doctor in your mid thirties.
Pre-meds are the cancer of STEM because they have no direction in life, instead they just read an article on forbes that said anesthesiologists get paid 400k a year and hop on the bandwagon because they're >to intelligent
>>
>>39820415
>mostly dominated by men
hence faggot shit. It's why I don't lift.

No.
>>
>>39820459
Get off my board REEEEEEEEE
>>
>>39820405
You might. You'll be surprised how hard it is to get high grades in any business-related class. It's not because the material is hard, but because there are so many students it's impossible to give anything but multiple choice tests, so if you fuck up, you're fucked.
>>
>>39820372
Sounds like a meme. If you really want a job in the medical field just go with nursing and specialize in something.

normies and asians, but I'm Ivy league. Only one girl in my seminar this semester, but there are almost always more females in classes. Lectures are pretty diverse. I know a few athletes on the CS track too. I'm a manlet who's avg mode af and idk why I'm on this board ;__;

learned this the hard way. :c

they don`t teach you how to cook so much as tell you to make things. students who are already good at that from having kitchen experience get A`s. The instructors give everyone else gets 70% unless you royally fuck up a cooking lab.

It`s a racket, they want your 7k per semester for something you could teach yourself.

You`ll learn more by working through Joy of Cooking and Modernist Cuisine.

Well if you're a burger that's true I guess. But I'm Austrian and I'm happy as a resident. Lots of your points apply here as well, but not to an extent that it would be unbearable. From a purely rational standpoint you get a highly paid (uni's almost free here) profession with supreme job safety and you get the special privilege of seeing what a human really is, which I'm kind of into. Perhaps that doesn't apply to all of the engineers here.

Tip: if you want to get a software dev job, there's no need for college. Teach yourself, junior dev jobs are easy to find, and it's upwards from there.

Why the fuck anyone would burn through so much money for college is beyond me.

You could find a web dev job in 6 months if you just do the work on freecodecamp.com (not the link I posted), then continue with the first link to become a software eng.

I study Physics, suprisingly there is not a single person that is overweight, albeit only 10/240 (all bachelor and master students) are fit. I like it a lot, people tend to be a bit quirky but very cool to have conversations with. We constantly move from physics discussions to conversations and discussions about general stuff, except politics most of us hate that shit. It is a privilige to be surrounded by so many smart, quirky, kind, and fun people. Fuck I had a terrible time in highschool.
>>
>>39827096

Same here bro. HS was so fucking disgusting that anything after it feels 10/10

Accounting

Normies here and there. Some are jacked, some are burger incarnate. Mostly whites and asians and a fair number of girls.

I did Audit for two busy seasons. Said fuck it and moved to big 4 for transfer pricing. (Never heard of it? Neither have most people at Big 4)
>>
>>39827096
I've seen this too.

There are overweight guys, but they don't turn up to lectures. Maybe 20/80 girls/guys. Discussions are good.
>>

I did a bachelor in Political Science and currently in my master of Finance. If you like governmental work, it is a nice balance of policy and numbers. Like a Ministry of Finance/Economics

Physics

Mostly autistic but some cool guys. The girls want me.

Medicine

I'lm done with medschool in 4 months. I'm a eurofag so people are less likely to sue me, and if they do; it doesn't hold up in court if it's stupid shit. Competition to specialize in certain fields (eg pediatrics, any kind of surgery) is killing though... so I'm spending most of my time off slaving away on research papers to make my resume more intersting.

Also male:female ratio is 1:3. The bulk of people are kind and friendly but the top 5-10% are complete dicks and usually don't fraternize well with other students.

How do I into phrama girls without doing phrama?

Seems retarded to do a major just for girls
>>
I initially went and graduated from a linguistics major at a private institute. Lots of freaks and geeks, and a ton of weird sex. The split of men to women was 3:1 so women had a pretty big selection to roll through.

Changed to massage therapy, graduated, and now I'm going in for nursing.

Massage Therapy is not a "real degree" in most places, but it was a 2 year degree and I met some incredibly nice people, and some serious fucking weirdos. A lot of potheads and prior military oddly enough.
