Should I incorporate power cleans into my routine, if my target is simply to build strength and some muscle?

I really enjoy compound lifts. I do squants, diddys, pendlay rows, OHP and bench split into a PPL split. My pull day is, however, lacking in a nice second compound lift, and I was thinking I could start power cleaning. However, this lift seems quite technical and I'm wondering if one can safely learn to power clean with decent form and technique simply by filming oneself and learning the lift online (videos, reading)? Am I better hiring a PT for a day, or is it just a waste of money? I can do all the other compounds with good form and correct technique. I learned them myself just using online resources and filming myself.

need some advice, guys.

background, started lifting freshman year of uni, dicked around for a bit with bench, squat, deadlift, gained a bit of weight and got stronger but a few months into it i started almost exclusively doing olympic weightlifting. four years after, and my form is bretty damn good. except i'm generally weak as fuck.

my goal is to now get strong overall and in general. i'm wondering if i've given up my noob gains, if i should revert to ss or continue with texas method - as i've been doing.

snatch: 93kg
clean and jerk: 104kg

deadlift 1x5: 265lb (285lb?)
squat 1x5: 245lb (265lb?)
ohp 1x5: 115lb

Then keep progressing your big barbell movements. Weekly if you can. If not, then monthly. TM is fine. If not, then 5/3/1 or something that allows more flexibility for all the shit you want to do. Don't skip your conditioning.

TL:DR: progress barbell movements across your hinge, upper press, and upper pull planes and everything else besides conditioning is just extra.

Doing good. A few stones along the way in regards to weightclasses, between "I don't wanna cut" and "will be even worse in the heavier weightclass". But I'm trying to convince him to drop down, it's not even that much weight that he has to lose.

In the other hand, another one has asked me to change the plans in regards to the mock meets. I told him it was just an idea, and either way was good. So changing his mind isn't a big deal... might be even better when it comes to motivation.

Pretend it's a meet and make 3 attempts with whatever weights you think will work best.

It's good to get some practise on choosing your first, second, and third attempts.

First attempts are usually 90-95%, sometimes 100%.
So in that case, you don't need to do 100% after doing 90% (unless you want to). Go for 102% or 105% or 108% or 110% or 120% or whatever you think you can do.

He used to recommend the programs according to the lifter's level on the soviet system.

But now, he pretty much says it's fine to do them even if you're intermediate. When asked, he said "if you can train 4 days per week, you should".

At 400 wilks you can use any of the programs in my opinion, intermediate or advanced. Both will work.
I'd choose like Boris said himself, do the advanced if you have 4 days available, do the intermediate if you can only do 3.

However, if doing the advanced programs as intermediate, I'd recommend a few changes.

First is, you don't need to do 3 prep cycles before maxing out. I'd recommend doing 1-2 and then maxing out and restarting (or doing the whole comp cycle if you're competing).

Second is, pay attention to the volume. Sheiko is exhausting, but the program is not supposed to make you pass out during training. If you feel the volume of the advanced program is too much for you, just lower the volume. Remove accessories, sets from the main lifts, reduce the number of reps from a set that's too difficult...
Of course you should still try hard and soldier through the difficult and tiring stuff.
But there are points where it's not worth continuing... Where the athlete is having pulsating headaches, or losing balance, feeling dehydrated, feeling like vomiting, arterial pressure drops, feeling like blacking out, blurry or darkened vision for a moment... Basically, try hard but be responsible.

Third is, don't be afraid of adjusting the weights. Up or down. For the intermediate or advanced programs. Adjusting the weights is basically part of the program and something Sheiko expects you to do.
Don't try to make everything RPE 10 like Isley did, but you don't have to do the entire day at RPE 7.
And if the entire day feels like RPE 10, you can just reduce it a bit so that next training feels like 8-9, as it should.

If I'm planning on doing Advanced Large Load, and would like to keep it at 15-16 weeks, would it be preferable to just go for maxes during skill test 1st week of comp block, or cut out one of the Prep cycles? Which one if that'd be the case?

If I'd do the first option the maybe I could cut some sets, while keeping reps and intensity during the last week of Prep III?

Like for example going from bench/dead - 5x2@85%/5x3@80% to 3x2@85%/3x3@80%. In order to reduce fatigue for maxday?
