Who else is /outdoor/ here? Not just like dayhikes, but strap 60 lbs to your back and hike for 3 days, or running class III whitewater in a playboat?
Yes, biking, Kayaking and climbing
Can confirm being /out/ is worse for getting grils than being /fit/

>60 lbs
Are you taking you fucking desktop to shitpost while hiking? Even with winter gear and a week of food my pack weighs about 25lbs, 30 max.

>60 lbs
Only times I came even close was when I was playing pack mule for small groups due to being the strongest and most experienced hiker.
Anyway, I live in a tiny country with a population density of 363 people/km2 so places for getting /out/ are very rare, but I manage to go hiking or mountaineering abroad a few times a year. Pic related.
Hiked all of california on the PCT then snapped my shit up shortly after.
Indoor climbing is fun. Girls are hot and I can get 'mires for climbing hard routes.

I'm going to start climbing next month when i get a job for membership and shoes. How should I prepare myself so i can have an advantage. I've just been doing pullups and hanging off the pullup bar after every workout.

Definitely any pulls will help, but my best advice is to just climb a lot. Don't focus on problems that will struggle for the whole time. Just climb a lot and you'll get better. I usually can climb higher graded routes, but when I train I just do a large volume of easy-medium ones. You train a lot of new muscles so the best way to get stronger is just climbing. Goodluck!
