So, gymnasts have the best bodies and their workouts are the most impressive--at least, people actually want to watch them work out.

If I have no ambition to compete, is it ever too late to start a gymnast-style workout regimen? I'm worried most about bone and muscle strain for people whose muscles and bones haven't been acclimated to gymnastics.

I would go for it if I was you. Im pretty sure unless you have some medical condition i dont think bone and muscke strain will be a big deal.

>I'm worried most about bone and muscle strain for people whose muscles and bones haven't been acclimated to gymnastics.

There's progressions up to shit. As you work through the progressions your body will adapt but you're going to find the strength gains to be slower than you would with a barbell. However, your strength gains will chug along at the same speed as your tendon gains so you won't injure yourself. Believe me friendo my credentials are that I've never done any gymnastic training, still haven't hit 1/2/3/4 after a year of lifting and look like shit but I have spent a lot of time on the internet ;)
>>
>>39793538
If you wanna look like that, just hop on gear and lift
>>
>>39793538
You know why they have good bodies? Because they're manlets in a sport that requires you to keep your bf% low and strength high, which basically means you need a ripped physique. They look that way because they NEED to look that way to be successful, not because gymnastics training itself makes them look that way. If you start doing gymnastics you'll look nothing like them. Your best bet is lifting weights, not gymnastics.
>>
>>39793538
Yeah, go for it.
A lot of guys that started it out of nowhere, like Tatted Strength and Philippe Scofield.

MFW I can only wish I could do this:

>>
>>39793538

Gymnastic have strength routines too, you think gymnastic guys can't do weighted pull ups with their bodyweight attached or weighted dips with x1.3 bodyweight?

If they look jacked it's because they actually can do insane feats of strength on dips and pull ups like powerlifting tier strength
>>
>>39796596
Nobody said they can't lift weight.
>>
>>39793538
the most important thing for you to realize is this: there are no natty olympic competitors.

that being said, enjoy whatever you want to do. pick up overcoming gravity book and buy a set of rings and start training.

a gymnastic style workout that OP says is not the technical circuit you see on youtube and drop lifting

You could start doing weighted pull ups, weighted dips, handstand pushups and dragon flags until you get better at them, and then start doing more specific gymnastic stuff

>>39798590

It is pretty obvious, but it's nice to get a more open minded approach to the ideologies that may be involved or necessary for a workout to help achieve a goal.

Just like the stickies...

Work ethic. They worked for it. If you put in at least 10-20 hours a week training, eating right, resting properly, and maybe a helping dose of good genetics, then you too could look jacked without gear.

Paralette training and Gymnastic rings.

You can hook the rings on a power rack.

There's almost always an Adult gymnastic class if you live in a major city in burgerland.

As a gymnast myself i can tell you that they mostly have these awesome muscle bellies because they carry insane Mounts of scar tissue with them from slamming their muscles on the barren.

Personally I do the GST Foundation, one level is a 12 week program, actual planche is, I believe, level 4, starting level 3 in january

I switched to bodyweight from freeweights for strengthening tendons, also I didn't like how low my stamina was
