Fuck /fit/, kinda getting scared now

I was squatting about two weeks ago, and I started feeling some slight pain in my right hip area. I wasn't doing any heavy weight. I thought it was just soreness as it had been a while since I last lifted, but its been days and I still feel it when I move my leg in certain positions. Did I fuck myself up, or did I just strain it?

It doesn't bother me when I'm out doing whatever, and I haven't gone lifting since because of other things keeping me busy, so I haven't thought about seeing a doctor. Pic related is sorta the area where I feel it

Tight hip flexors. It's not a big deal. Just stretch them every day until the pain stops. There are plenty of great hip flexor stretches on YouTube.
>>

Pretty sure you pulled your hip flexor. It'll go away in a few weeks, no reason to worry. If you have a foam roller you can use that to stretch the area, might make it heal faster.

Thanks lads, I'll look into it more tonight

Is it recommended not to lift until it recovers?
>>
strain. Just chill for 2-3 weeks. No squats or deadlifts
>>
>>39773363
I've had it happen to me before and I worked through it and had no side effects at all. Just hurts a little when you do squats and such

Obviously if the pain gets worse or doesn't stop after a couple weeks then yeah give it recovery time, but you should be fine.

If you pull something then you should move it. Do stuff like leg raises.
stay at a weight were you are at 3-4 in the 1-10 pain spectrum. ake sure to warm up and start light, and build it up. Dont go for aximum weight. But try to get a decent amount of reps. Then start adding moremorweight weight next session if its not too painfull
It takes a longer time to recover with rest only.

Appreciate the advice bros

Sorry for the shitty spelling. But im on my phone.

Dont just let it rest. Work the muscle. And start easy.

When i started lifting i also had this problem... 1 or 2 month of lifting / proper stretching later it was gone. Nothing to worry about.

While this thread is up I might as well bring up my problem. I have some kind of injury in the same area as OP. When I bend at the waist it aches and locks up a bit, then usually cracks and I get my mobility back. It tends to go away for the most part once I'm warmed up. Sometimes in certain positions it feels like my hip is about to dislocate (it's obviously not, but it feels like it). I got it from doing something similar to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nh3gioc_x4I

Does it ping it if you sit down and lift your foot to look at the sole of your feet?

If so it's just hot hips from bad form.

Feet out more, toes point out more, hips go back further. Gotta make room for the hips bro.

This happened to me in my left hip flexor when i started out. I couldn't even lift my leg up anymore without pain. I rested and didn't do squats or deadlifts for almost 2 months, streched, rolled and tried everything. It still sometimes acts up when I'm squatting and leaning forward too much. I guess I should've visited a doctor or something. I think it didn't heal correctly and formed maybe some scar tissue. It's bearable though, so I don't care.

I've had the same pain for about 3 weeks now
>>
>>39774784
No I really don't feel it unless I'm laying down.

Sometimes when I'm moving around in bed, It feels uncomfortable in certain position. Slight pain when I raise my leg at times, and also when I try to stretch out the muscle in the OP. Feels like something needs to pop but never does

hip flexors... happens to everyone.. stretch AFTER

if you get pain in between sets kick your extended leg back and forth slowly until the pain stops.
