I currently weigh about 230 pounds and I want to know how I can lose 40 and have a more toned body, my body isn't bad since im tall but I am insecure about my man tits and overall figure, just want to slim down. What has worked best for you when losing weight and getting that more ideal body shape in? I don't care about a six pack at all really I'm young and have the rest of my life for that, just want to walk more confident is all.

eat like 1000 cal a day or practice marathon running. if you do cardio like all day theres no way to eat enough food to fix urself up and you'll look toned a f

Read the sticky.

tldr version: do a program like starting strength three days a week, eat 500 calories less than your maintenance. Lots of protein. Cardio is good for you, but not remotely necessary, and not the most bang for your buck.

Eat less, exercise more.

Why do people on fit denigrate cardio? Cardio is necessary, it should be the main component of any exercise routine. Cardiovascular health is MORE IMPORTANT than any kind of muscular gains, for fuck's sake.

If you want to lose weight, cardio is supremely helpful, and it's something you should keep up for the rest of your life. Strength training is mainly for aesthetics, cardio is for health.

I agree with you on every point, but most people on /fit/ are concerned primarily with looking god naked. Most don't really care about health.

As for losing weight, cardio is probably the hardest way to do it. It is way easier to just eat less and lift heavy to preserve muscle.

did you not see the fucking DINOSAUR on the front page?

Yeah, but if you combine diet, strength training, and cardio, you'll lose weight faster than you can with any of the methods on their own.
