What is the proper push up form? All sources i found say only some very basic shit like "place your hands a shoulder width apart" but what with the rest of the body? am is supposed to push my shoulders down? or keep them up? should i push my shoulder blades together or not..?
Please give me some tips, either my push up form is shit or there is something wrong with my muscles because i'm getting absolutely no progress after months of trying.

one thing they made us do at boot camp here to help the clueless noobs is touching the ground with our nose. forces you to go dep but slow so you don't smash your nose on the concrete. after a while of this we all had a pretty good idea of how to do them properly.
scapula retracted, hands lined up with your nipples, abs and glutes nice and tight so you can keep your body straight.
hold the bottom position for a split second; i.e. don't "bounce"
