This. Eat less/smarter/more nutritiously AND work out and you will lose fat pretty easily. Though I never really take into account my calories burned during exercise, I figure it's negligible since I mostly just lift heavy stuff and put it back down, and I only jog for like 5 minutes at a time a few times a week.

Cardio usually increases your intake if you don't monitor it. But if you eat at bmr and burn 450 cal then yes you'll lose about a lb a week
