Yeah but you're hitting failure 1-3 times a set until it's time to progress. You probably also do it for multiple exercises a session. I think training like that just takes a toll over time. I used to train the same way but I started to feel shitty after my workouts. I don't think it's very safe either. If you're going to snap a bicep, its probably not going to be on the last difficult rep of a set that you know you can finish. It's going snap midway through a rep that you know you can't do but are attempting anyway just to get the most growth stimulation.

Whether you do those sets 3, 5, 8 or 15 reps doesn't matter.

These people don't understand that X lbs only become easy when your workset weight is sufficiently above X lbs.

They think that increased endurance and work capacity create increases in absolute strength.

Specificity of training is the name of the game.

If you want strength, do 3-5 rep sets and increase the weight every workout.

If you want endurance, do 10-20 reps.

If you want to endure heavy sets, gain the strength first (heck, go a bit beyond your goal strength) and then increase the reps.

This started about a week ago, I'll weigh myself in on Tuesday. I was 250.4 last Tuesday.
