I go pretty warm while I wash, then turn it to max cold and breathe through it until it doesn't feel like it's startling anymore. Until I can move around under the stream without getting a sudden chill. Then I kill the water. Takes about 2-3 mins.

My shoulders are the hardest part to expose to the cold.

Cold showers are good for the hair and skin for obvious reasons. They help wake you up and help put you to bed. The reason hot showers are bad is because your balls don't really regulate heat, they're always going to be hot, too much heat lowers your sperm count. That's about it. If cold water was all it took to raise testosterone a significant amount, no one would do steroids.

Seriously the meme of hot then cold face washing was put to bed years ago. Hot water doesn't really "open" your pores and cold water doesn't really "close" them. It's recommended that you use lukewarm water to prep and rinse your face after using face wash.
