I'm struggling with what to do for him because I think his descent is ok but he seems to lose all tightness coming out of the hole / core and back collapse.

I think he should:

>work on hip flexibility
>focus on just hitting depth until he's able to go lower

because right now if he brings his stance out he cant quite hit depth with his stupid long legs.

Lowbar requires less ankle mobility so it might fix his issues without the need for heels. Or it might not. Only way to know is trying it out.

If he's having issue learning lowbar, you can try putting some small plates under his heels and see how it improves his squat after a few sets.

And don't tell him to sit back more, unless he's doing lowbar. And even then, don't exaggerate it too much.

Also, a wider stance makes it harder to reach depth. I'd keep this stance width until he can comfortably and consistently get below parallel.

If your goal is to get stronger on deadlifts and bench, that's fine and you shouldn't worry about lagging muscles. In fact I'd make it more concise.

If your point is bodybuilding, you need work for the calves, pullup/chinup, lateral raises, wrist rollers, alternate between supinating and hammer curls, squat, hip abduction and adduction, neck isometrics, core isolation... and I think that's it.

Arch is secure. Nothing is visibly wrong. I've had 3 years to work on this shit.

I'll tell you what happened to me. I was stuck at 100kg benchpress for quite a while, once i started training my weak spot, i went from 100kgs to 140's so fucking quick i couldnt believe. Because i had one weak muscle together with a bunch of strong muscles, once i started training that one muscle directly, my bench suddently exploded. So, if your problem is the same as mine, not being able to work the right muscle, you'll go up pretty quick.
