OP here... did what you suggested, worked really well for the smell.

my farts smell like lemon too as an added bonus.

but i have lemon seeds around my bunghole now that really chafe and the lemon juice is stinging like mad as i type.

I would try 50/50 spray of vinegar & water & then let the car air out. If you are somewhere below 0 this may not work for you.

If that doesn't do it you can try febreeze or some other enzyme spray to fix the odor.

White vinegar should do the trick. Works great for getting the stink out of synthetic clothes also. just throw a cup of it in with your wash.
