Noticed any difference eating clean v dirty? I mean if macros and calories are macros and calories than really would it make an impact what you choose?
An excess of sugar will turn into fat for starters

Dirty I think refers to how far above maintenance you eat, not the foods you choose. Ie the difference between a 300-500kcal "clean" bulk and a fuck-it-all "dirty" bulk

Excess anything (excess being that is pushes you over your TDEE) will result in it being stored as fat. There's nothing special about sugar in that regard.
Maybe you could make that argument for Fructose since it can only really be metabolized by the liver, so the rest will be preferentially converted to triglycerides once the liver is full. So if you have a big fruit smoothie with a high fructose load, it might be worse than eating the same amount of sugar in glucose based candy form. So in this instance, the 'clean' food (fruit) is actually worse than the 'dirty' food from a weight loss/gain perspective.

There are a lot of differences between eating healthy vs. eating unhealthy from a perspective of health, well-being and athletic performance.

personally i feel kinda bad after eating too much junk, might be mental though
But I only really notice a difference if I eat not enough food in total or if i eat not enough fruit/vegetables

I feel like that too. I think its a mix of physical and psychological, depending on your mental state. I mostly avoid greasy foods because my face and back will break out like crazy

I too feel like shit if I eat like shit. Seems similar to putting standard gas in a car that wants premium.
A while ago I had one big pizza with sausage and shit, and another half pizza with no toppings, in about two hours.
I don't eat much junk, so I thought I would feel like shit. But I just had a great time.
CHAD feels GREAT when he eats PIZZA

Yeah. Turns out, mental health is a part of health.

I do a clean keto (no saturated fats, dairy, relatively low fat compared to other keto) and I'm a lot more motivated and less depressed and anxious. I was never obese but wanted to see what it was like to run on ketones. Started with regular keto and my performance was shit and it felt gross since I like to eat clean anyway. I still feel like I perform better on carbs (for my sport) so thinking about loading on carbs on sport days. My mom does blood work and so I'm monitoring that closely.
