Why aren't you rich /fit/?
>>
>>39635444
because im stupid and lazy
>>
>>39635444
I am. I'm also obese. Also, not /fit/ related.
>>
>>39635444
Because I love the freedom I have as NEET. Ever working makes me work-able and will no longer let me get welfare.
>>
Because I can't get a job.
>>
>>39635515
Basically this. Also terrified of other people and can't deal with any kind of stress. Hard to get rich when you cower in your room all day.
>>
>>39635444
Because I love my job teaching highschool western civ., British lit, and civics as well as coaching track and field.
>>
Because I only make 50k a year and don't know how to make more.

I should probably go back to college
>>
>>39635444

I got a MA in philosophy.
Surprisingly I dont find a job :^)
>>
>>39635444
Because my mom got hooked on coke when my dad left us and she spent my 90k college fund. Now I work 40-50 hours a week on 8.05/h starting college next year, I'm gonna try amateur fighting while in college and if I can't make it then i'm joining the Air Force for that steady job/retirement at 45.
>>
>>39635778
You can start a business under someone else's name. Someone that would never fuk u over.
>>
>>39636703

On my way.
Owning a startup for half a year and trading stocks for over 4 years.
Actually making some decent financially gains.
>>

All guy catholic school senpai
>>
Graduating with a good resume and a degree in CS this May, starting the hunt for my first job as a Software Engineer, then it begins
>>
>drop out 9th grade
>NEET ever since (got GED)

Ok so here's my choices now:

1) Get low-paying wagecuck job

Won't pay enough for me to move out, won't pay enough for me to afford a wife/children.

The only motivation I have to leave the NEET lifestyle is if I'm able to get sex and have children.

2) Go to college or trade-school

I will leave tens of thousands in debt, probably unable to get a job afterwards, and even if I do it may be automated out in the future.
>>
>>39636781
I'm a rigger at a shipyard. 84 hour weeks with a 14/7 schedule. It's not so bad, but I was just dropped into it from my dispatching job in the same place doing much less work.

I need to pay off my damn truck and save up. College wasn't hard but I started enjoying alcohol more than going to class.
>>
>>39635444

I'm not rich, but I have a decent paying job.

My gains are also okay for the average guy.

But I still have no gf so.......meh.
>>
>>39636806
Slaying any high school boipussy?
>>
>>39636767
If I want to get things started as entrepreneur I would rather keep it legal.
>tfw you want to make money by publishing a book but can't because the chance of losing welfare is too high.
>>
>>39635444

Because I'm comfortable in my middle class middle management job and don't want to go through the rollercoaster that is opening a business.

My wife is set on leaving her job by the middle of next year and opening a small B&B/wedding venue. I'm on board with it, but it's not the kind of business that will make us wealthy.
>>
>>39636827

Trade school is a solid option, m80.
>>
>>39635515
This. Also don't have enough confidence to believe I can get anywhere. I've started a lot of things, just never finished one.
>>
>>39635444
b/c I'm stupid and lazy. I like hookers and beer more than I like being rich.

>>
>>39636827
U wot? Every job is able to afford living on your own that why there is a minimum wage, I make 390 a week and live on my own and I always have enough for food and rent and my rent is 975 every month
>>

How the fucks that meme? I work 70 hrs a week and bring home 650$ after taxes

Because I'm not selfish and I don't need to work more than 20 hours a week at 13 dollars an hour to afford my lifestyle

>tfw rent is 250 a month

Im living the dream you selfish wage slaves working 30 or more hours a week just so you can have a fancy house and eat rich people food lmao while I get high and work 2 days a week and love my job

Yeah I wasn't born into wealth and didn't get a fancy job from my family, it's not what you know it's who you know in this world
>>
>>39638581
Have you considered that maybe you are just bad at communication and tend to sound like an asshole IRL?
>>
>>39638591
My parents are immigrants from the soviet bloc. We had nothing growing up. I made it here myself.

Quit making excuses for your failures and fucking engage with the world, anon.
>>
>just turned 25 years old
>father left me 60k investment portfolio when I turned 21
>make $18/hour 40 hours a week, live with parents and pay them $600/month in rent
>have another $50k in my life savings that I've added most of it to the investment portfolio as well
>parents could also pay entire college tuition (i worked part time to pay for everything else)

I guess with over $110k in my name and no debts, I would be considered rich for my age right now, but it doesn't matter because I'm a complete aspie friendless kissless permvirgin shut-in loser so I save the rest of my money.

I would much rather be my age and only have maybe a few thousand dollars in savings but have friends, have a girlfriend, have my own place, basically live a normal life, than to be in the situation I'm in now.

And while I could go to grad school and make like $35-40 an hour (like I'm uspposed to do), I just have no motivation due to how shit my life is
>>
>>39638605
I work 70 hours a week I'm not a NEET, I work hard for my money and live an enjoyable life because I like my coworkers and getting paid to workout.

it's the day off every week that I don't like because it's boring as fuck when I'm not working
>>
>>39638620
Nobody needs more than 18 an hour, I make 11.50 an hr and live pretty damn good, I'm currently drinking a beer waiting for my chicken to cook in the oven in my own place that's heated and has electricity. I fucking made it in life
>>
>>39638636
Iktf bro I make 12.35$ an hour and am happy because there is people in this world literally eating bugs and drinking dirty water just to survive that would love to be in my place in life
>>
>>39638595

Oh definitely thats one of the things. I've been reading on people skills and communication books and have been going to groups similar to toastmasters.

But then when I have to use it in public it just goes to shit in my head then my mouth.

The one thing good about it though is that it makes me a good listener because I keep my mouth shut.

I have no excuses for who I am. And I don't blame people. Just gotta improve. Maybe when I'm 40 I'll be a normal member of society.

>>39638591

What more could I need? I'm not lazy so I don't need a car and I make enough that I can call a cab if I have something to bring home that I can't carry on my bicycle
>>
>>39638721

>>
>tfw just purchased some nomos random watxh cause it looked good

>>
>>39635444
OP, I have a 119 I.Q. but grew up with a severely mentally deranged mother, then her equally fucked in the head mother, my grandmother, while my three aunts, my mothers sisters, didn't give a fuck about me. I was left alone with these evil rotten fucks and only when I turned 25 did I tell them all where to fucking go and haven't spoken to any of them since and my life is better for it..

It took me a few years to figure things out for myself as I was stunningly ignorant, having never received any advice or help from anyone, especially my worthless family.

13 years later, I'm 38 now, married and quite content with something resembling a career while also going to school so I can get qualifications in my chosen trade to improve my skills and make better money.

I'm not rich or good looking but I've worked hard, suffered and came out in the sunshine at the end of the tunnel. It's never too late until you're dead!

Being rich is incredibly subjective.

I make £65k basic and nearly double in bonus, but I feel so poor when I see the others I work with.
>>
>>39636827
15 years ago I was exactly where you are now. Firstly, pick a trade, something that's not math/science heavy like welding. If you can build or fix something you can get work. Sure, you may have to go into debt but its either that or low paying wage slave jobs forever. Don't let the fear of debt keep you back.
>>
>>39638783

>>
>>39638721
This is the attitude that I like in people....... nobody needs a fucking fancy car or 100 dollar meals every night or a 4 bedroom house with a jacuzzi and all that fancy shit to be happy

I make 18k a year and I'm happier than friends who make 90k+ a year because they're always stressed the fuck out
>>
>>39635444

Because the Jews have enslaved my countrymen.

That's not a bad option providing that you specialize in something that is applicable to the outside world. I considered the army a few times but always bailed at the last minute because I always got this creepy sensation about how I noticed that everyone I encountered in the military didn't have a sense of humor. Just something off about those people.

Don't fall into that "be your own man" bullshit. Your parents worked hard and have laid out life on a silver platter for you. Be glad that someone wants to set you up for a comfy life because virtually 99.99% of us here would have killed for that growing up.
>>
>>39638836
Why do you need anymore than you already make? I don't get people these days...... more is not always better
>>
>>39638316
I'm on the same boat as you, but my predicament is that the business that they want to give, is what made them "Americans", but it's a double edged sword, since every single day they come home absolutely destroyed and sick. How do you balance your health, vs business when you can only choose one.

I earn about $20,000 a year. The only reason I have a woman is because she's from poor as fuck Russia and counts her blessings that I'm not an alcoholic and can afford to feed & house us + a bit of leisure/domestic tourism.

She wants kids but I dunno how the fuck I will buy a proper house and feed them.
>>
>>39638873
Welfare is fun you idiot you don't even have to work and they give you 650 a month

Almost all my friends are on welfare living the dream, they sleep until 4pm everyday and have no responsibility
>>
>>39638524
Isn't the point of this thread to brag? If I was trying I would have just done it. I have three kids and seriously don't feel rich. Rich to me is having money to do whatever you want when you want to.
>>
>>39635444

>>
>>39638895
That's just fucked. Get a damn roommate or a cheaper dwelling. I don't even know how a person can do that apart from working 45+ hours a week.
>>
>>39638864
I live near the capitol and prices here are ludicrous. houses in good areas are hitting the 1+ million dollar mark. I also want to support my brother in his college journey. Plus I want to afford a house before 35 and a nice car at 30.
>>
>>39638912

Maybe I just feel entitled or driven to make over 6 figures at the end of my career. Just started as an analytical chemist after graduating college making 50k a year. I feel average as fuck and I'm considering going to grad school to make more money. Not sure if its worth my time though.

bruh just ditch the chem degree and go straight for CS. I just graduated and feel lucky that I found a chemistry related job at a pretty good company. The thing is i'm only starting off at around 50k. Most likely need to go back to grad school to make 6 figures. With comp sci you only need undergrad to make like 65k-80k. I think around 80k is the ceiling for a bachelors in CS though.

That's not how the world works, anon. The more monetary value you can contribute or in demand that your skills are, the more you are worth. I am in sales so I literally talk for a living. Better yet, I am a sales manager so I don't even really sell to guests anymore...I help other sales people make more money by improving their sales skills. I made $120K last year. This year I got a $12K raise because I am really good at what I do and a competitor tried to lure me away so my employer bumped my pay.

That said, nine years ago I was in the Army and was in combat making a third of what I do now. Which do you think was physically harder? Fair or not, become invaluable and earn what you're worth.

Not sure if you're still hear reading this, but I was in your exact position too. Went to a trades school at 20, the diploma was just a two year thing basically for software engineering. Finished it and did pretty well, and got into a good university, after that I got a job and now I'm working at a pretty good place and probably going back to finish a masters or possibly a phd in the future.
Don't give up, just try finding a good trade school to get in, the one near me accepts pretty much anyone and has a pretty good reputation for getting people employed, all I had to do was pass a grade 10 Math and English equiv test and both were pretty easy.

Growing up I was middle class until my father had a massive heart attack when I was ten. At that point he couldn't work and the insurer his employer argued over whether it was work induced or not, meanwhile neither paid the bills. We thus lived at near poverty levels until I was 18 when I joined the Army.

You may be happier, who am I to argue?

I wish. I'm from deep south Louisiana. Ever since oil prices tanked, all of the companies around here started pushing massive layoffs or they went bankrupt. Those of us remaining got hit with minimum 10% pay cuts. I'm only making $12.50 an hour now and I'm definitely one of the lucky ones to have even that.

If it weren't for the hard economic times I'd still be working as a dispatcher earning about $65k a year working 7/7. Such is life. I'm not bitter. But there isn't much time for cooking and gym working 12 hour days 45 minutes away from home.

If anything I count it as a blessing because it's finally pushing me to save my money and get out of this sinking ship of a job field.

If you're doing well in sales, stick with it. You have two choices, become better and more efficient at what you are selling OR sell a bigger ticket item and earn larger commissions.

What's nice about what you're doing now is it is relatively stress free and it has a quick turn over, selling bigger ticket products or services usually have a longer/more involved sales cycle.

I don't get this mindset

A family friend has businesses worth >£50m easily, possibly much more (he's quiet about it) and his kids want nothing to do with it (both early 20s) even though he desperately wants to train them to take over. Sure, he works hard but the kids would have to work hard in the careers they're pursuing too. It's not like it's one large business in a specific field either, he has property, factories, construction firms and all sorts. I can only assume they will come to their senses soon. To someone from a middle class family I can't understand why you'd turn down that opportunity.
