He's young. That article says 21. I was 410lbs at 19 years old. 455lbs at 20. If your relationship with food isn't healthy (binge eating all the time. Usually as a coping method for anxiety and depression), gaining that much weight isn't difficult at all.

It also becomes a self perpetuating problem. Eat WAY too much because depressed. Get fatter. Get more depressed because fatter. Eat. Get fatter. Repeat ad nauseum.

I'm 330lbs now at 24. Been on and off dieting for years because of fighting the binge eating problem. Once you've fucked up like that butterslug did, it's a deep hole to climb out of alone.

Had a fat roommate once. She did a number of horrible things.

I have trouble eating and have had for years. My mother was obese and didn't teach us about nutrition at all. I just kept eating and eating and eating. Well she still had some fit bf and he had very nice parents who sort of spoiled us. One day i guess I played dumb to get more food or just convinced myself to eat more so his parents gave me another meal. He came in and got mad and called me a pig. I think I was like 7 or 8 years old ofc overweight.

Well whenever I see food or have a meal that line repeats over and over in my head regardless of me exercising or eating healthier meals. And after losing weight it made it worse just me realizing what a pig I was all my life. Im down to 100 pounds and food makes me sick and im already depressed.

A chronic condition lasts years, likely the rest of your life. That group is broken down into 3 main categories:

1. People on medication (birth defects or neurological)
2. Fat people
3. Geriatrics

Why is healthcare to expensive in the U.S.? Why do people desperately want the government to pay for healthcare? Because we have excellent drugs and expert facilities that keep chronic people alive for eternity. There are SO MANY geriatrics who don't even understand they exist but they're put into "homes" that literally wipe their ass as they shit themselves in bed every 3 hours and are loaded up on drugs. The obesity rate is so high that mobility isn't even in question and diabetes is taken for granted as a fact of life. And insane people are kept at bay until they refuse to take their drugs and binge on something instead.

Chronic care patients account for more than 80% of the U.S. healthcare issues. They cost TRILLIONS of dollars to keep alive. These are old people and fat people. And we're so good at keeping them alive it's actually a problem.

My bosses best friend has diabetes and was in the hospital due to some kind of infection. A private hospital, mind you. I was introduced to her because she needed some help with her computer and my boss thought "Fuck it ill give it to the IT guy."

Depends on where. As far as the cities go, El Paso, San Antonio, and Houston's suburbs are fat as fuck. Austin, Dallas, and the actual city of Houston are typically not egregiously fat. Austin and Dallas are actually quite attractive cities desu.

So I've been following these threads for a while but never felt that I had anything of value to contribute before now. Today I saw something that etched itself into my soul and I suspect that I will remember it with horror forever.

Right now it's cold in Sweden. The temperature hovers around freezing temperatures, so snow ice and cold winds are commonplace. Imagine my already bad mood when I find myself having taken the wrong metro-line and having to wait for several minutes outside. I find a covered bench and wait.

A few minutes pass while I listen to music, completely absorbed within my own thoughts, and I don't notice the rotund young man and the bony middle aged woman accompanying him. She stands up a little bit from the bench, not looking at her son that waddles over to the bench and plants himself next to me, sighing audibly with relief. I glance in his direction and notice that he's clutching two brown paperbags from McDonalds in his chubby hands. They appear to be filled with the brim, and I can see the dark stains of grease threatening to leak through the paper down into his lap.

"Mom, mom!" He calls out, trying to get her attention.

She sighs and glances his way.

"When I get home I'm going to dip the fries in the milkshake, that's my favorite thing!" He says with pride as he shares this culinary secret with his beloved mother.

She looks away and a few minutes passes when suddenly the boy realizes that if he has to wait for the train much longer his precious food is going to get cold. He panics and looks over to see if his mother shares this revelation. She does not. Instead she appears to be bothered, soothing her feelings with a stinking unfiltered cigarette. He has to act, and quickly. With the determination of a grown man and not a child he tears the first bag open, grabbing a hold of a large chocolate milkshake and pull the lid off, throwing the plastic cover together with the straw to the ground.
