What should my resume/cv look like if I'm applying for my first job? will likely be a shitty waiter or retail position but I need to leave NEETdom and get my life together before I go back to restart sixthform next year.

Does the template at novoresume.com look good or should I stick to traditional black/white word document?

In the states? No need for a CV for a service industry job. Your resume should include: Contact information first, all education, job experience over last 5 years, military service, foreign languages, special skills.

Unless you are going into a career that requires technical expertise (engineering, research, etc.) you should try and keep a resume down to 1 page

In the UK, I'm 18 and have no job experience.

Not sure if this is a thing anymore but most UK schools have you do 1-2 weeks of work experience at any job, usually the service industry when you're 15. I did 1 week at a travel agent 4 years ago doing data entry, designing, organizing and some customer interaction. Is this even worth putting in?
