Is deadlifting once per week enough?
I just finished a deload from only 260 lbs down to around 240 lbs(recovering skelly) and just now failed my set of 265 lbs 1x5.
I'm following greyskull LP, which says to only deadlift once per week. Is this enough? What am I doing incorrectly?
thanks senpaitachi

Youre gonna get a lot of different answers. So first off, take the time to try out different things and see what works for you. I would deadlift twice a week. 2-3 days b4 deadlifting again. Or, if you just wanna stick to once a week, add more volume. Youre a beginner, however, so I think its more important to figure out what/how your body reacts to certain exercises, rep ranges and intensity levels.

i did SS since june, and some shitty PPL before that. I went from about 185 to 260 from then till now.
Would doing light deadlifting on squat days help do you think? I got mad about failing my reps so i just cranked out 5 reps of 225. How does that sound?

Light to moderate weight, yeah, I think that would help. Cranking out those few extra reps with 225 I believe was good of you. Also, I always deadlift after I squat. I like doing that, some people find it too intense, others dont like it for whatever reason. I usually deadlift 75 to 85 percent of my max, for 5 reps per set. It has helped a lot. I also do both conventional and sumo, and in general find that more volume, at least for me, helps me make progress.
bump for other opinoins
Also on gslp
If i do more deadlifting than once a week, i get tired af
1x5 is fucking retarded
5x3 until youre 275+ and then monkey with what actually works for you. Are you a gingerbread man? Then why are you using a cookie cutter program?
It's actually 1xAMRAP.
I started adding RDL on the squat day and it worked just fine, but I'm a DYEL still so yeah.
