Are lifting shoes worth it? What do you guys use?
>>39621490
No. Pair of Nike Frees I use for running.
If you have issues with your ankle flexibility and do high bar or front squats they are definitely worth it. If not, they aren't.

if you are serious about squats get them, even more so if you want to do oly lifts. they are worth every penny especially if you have poor ankle mobility.
currently using pp2 that i got last week on a sale for a little under 50$ and i'm very happy with them

Weightlifting shoes are more than just a raised heel anon.

I have some PP2s that I got on sale. The stability is really nice, and the heel helps, especially on front squats.

just got power perfect 2 as well! do you think we did a good buy? I see that these shoes are old as fuck (like, they were launched like 5 years ago) but they look way better than powerlift 2&3 and just a little worse than adipowers.
Also: do you deadlift with them?
>>39621616
I'm very satisfied with mine, they were cheap because they're an old model, and they look good. Don't use them for deadlifts though, it's like pulling from a deficit and changes the mechanics a bit as well. But I do like them for benching.

i did a new diddy PR with them today. felt it much less in my legs than when i did them barefoot. i have no idea if that was because of the heel or something else.
love them for squats and c&j. didn't try snatch yet but i guess i'll love it as well.

I reached squat of over my own body weight and I feel my current does don't provide the current amount of stability and balance.

was squatting 3.5pl8 with flat shoes and my depth was under parallel but not completely ATG
with pp2 i can hit ATG easily so i started at 2pl8 and slowly increased the weight throughout the week to get used to the shoes. already back to 3pl8 and i definitely feel it A LOT more in my legs due to extra depth i got from shoes. not to mention front squats became much easier
because of it i probably won't be squatting the same amount as i did before but in the long run i'll get more benefit due to depth
all in all i'm very happy with shoes and the difference was night and day for me. my ankle mobility wasn't that great though. when i do squats my feet feel like they are encased in cement and don't move around at all
>tfw masterace home gym and i lift bareass and barefeet
