needing help. im a top level amateur cyclist and im struggling through a plateau. working a coach to deload and reasses, but im thinking i should get some books or habits that will help me get that mind game on point. i realize that this place is predominantly strength focused, but theres a lot of overlap there with endurance athletes.
any suggestions? i guess motivation general,.

Describe the nature of the plateau.

output is measured in watts. functional threshold power is used to measure how strong you are. this is typically measured in 5min and 20min max average output in watts.
last year i was clocking in 400w for the five and 300w for the twenty. i just did another tonight and it was at 350w for the five and 270w for the twenty.
its not so much of a plateau as ive gotten drastically weaker. i just completed a rough training block but this seems rdiculous. im starting to question my coach and training, but i dont want to do so unjustifiably.

if you're regressing, you're underrecovering or overtraining.
let your body rest.

yeah was about to say the same thing, Take maybe 2 weeks off or so and let your body rest fully, Youll come back hitting harder.

Do you know what your current relative VO2 max is? Just curious. I got 57 ml/kg/min last week and was actually impressed with myself since i havent trained in 6 months.
