Ok faggots, because nobody else will make a thread about calisthenics and street workout.

So fuck you.

Let's talk about calisthenics.

why don't you retards do calisthenics the sport aka rock climbing you get the calisthenics body and you are participating in a actual sport
>>
>>39614917
what's a good begginer street workout?

I've started to run 1km daily, do 100 push ups, 50 australian pull ups, 3 pull ups, 100 squats.

wonder if I need more.

>>39614929
there's not such shit where I live.

not really, I just realized the body I want can be done with bodyweights.

there's not need to start bashing the thread.
as long as you do exercise, you'll look great.

bodyweight can produce great results.
>>
>>39615106
Lifting weights is faster though
>>
>>39615078

Wrong.

If you see someone that looks good they did barbell training + AAS

That's like saying you can go compete in nascar while crawling on your hands and knees.

Not only do you need a car you need a fast one and you need to know how to drive
>>
>>39615106
Where's that prisoner workout graphic. It had a full list of progressive calisthenics.
>>
>>39615121
>>39615128
there's no reason to think lifting is the only way to do shit and look good.

some people want to be lean, others big.

calisthenics can produce decent results, unless you suffer from body dismorphia.
>>
>>39615106
I don't disagree but lifting weights will be faster and produce better results

Why look decent and make slow progress when you just lift weights and progress weekly and faster?

I did bodyweight for a month and it was frustrating. I decided to join a gym and in 2.5 months with a proper diet, I gained 15 lbs and felt stronger than ever

Of course someone can make some heavy weights to train also.

>>39615173
Some people just don't want to go to the gym.
I felt better doing calisthenics than what I did in the gym.
My goal is to lose body fat, rather than being big.

Do you really think you can walk into a gym and your muscle will just starting popping like some fucking popcorn? It takes at least a year with a strict diet to look "fine".
Calisthenics is just inefficient compared to the traditional workouts.
The only reason you can chose it over normal gym if you're some kind of neanderthal far from civilization and its accumulated knowledge.

A single hand push up is not a joke bro.

Sure, the leg workout is a meme, but this doesn't mean I can't get some weights.

>>39615278
like I said, some people find gym better, other calisthenics better.
I do find the latter more fun for me.

I weight 65 kg, a single hand push up will be like lifting at least 40-50 kg with one hand, that's not easy BS.

Two of them are on AAS and one of them is natural (or just has horrid genetics).

Think about that. That's what you get when you take AAS and do bodyweight. You look like that.

As opposed to barbell training, where you take AAS and you look like this (if we're going to cherrypick...

I can't believe there is a fat dyel somewhere out there that thinks

1. Those bodies are something to aspire to, that's a good final form.

What are your goals? You posted earlier that you wanted to LOOK GOOD.

Is your goal to look good? barbell training.

Is your goal to do some weird pushups? Do some bodyweight crap routine.

I do barbell training because I want to look good and it's the quickiest easiest way to look good.

If you want to look good, do it. It is not only the qucikest and easiest but the ONLY way to look good.

You have high goals. You're posting videos of roided physiques.

It's good to have high goals. But if your goal is to look like that (you need roids) ... you need to train hard and do everything perfect.

If you want to look 50% as good, you need to train hard and do everything perfect.

If you want to look like this in 8 months >>39615729

If you want to be a sickcunt? Barbel training

I dont really bother with routines so i cant really recommend any. One thing i can say is whatever routine you pick make sure it involves dips. Push ups just arent enough for chest.
Also in terms of getting size it will vary in your strength and training. For example if you are doing a lot of pull ups and progressions to a 1 armed pull up you will get a developed back.

just do push ups and pull ups with as much weight (weighted vest) as possible for 3x8 or 5x5. for legs you can do weighted step ups.
this is all to get the body everyone wanted when they started (and normal people consider hot).

Youll never achieve any advanced moves doing weighted stuff not to mention stuff like shoulders will lag since you need to be skilled to work them properly.
Secondly why would you do calisthenics and miss out on all the cool moves like planche?planch
>>
>>39617144
300 squats
300 hip floor abductions per leg
300 lunges
100 crunches

In sets of 50 or 60 each

I used to jog 5k everyday but I can't now because of the cold so I had to up my calistenics.
>>
>>39617467
why do i need to do "advanced moves"? i want to look good naked, and i do. my shoulders are fine.. i had some troubles back when i did ring dips, but i replaced them with weighted push ups and proper warm up.

also, my body (and vest) is just the tool to achieve my goal. i couldnt care less about planches.
>>
>>39617503
If you want to look good just go to a gym.
Main purpose of calisthenics is strength. That is my main goal. I look good either way because of low bodyfat and muscles so i dont need to worry about looking good. Im >>39615999 btw

Kinda bruce lee mode. No arms, no chest and a triangle body kek.

it trains lats too, and legs depending on how you do it. If you're one of those guys who makes it his focus to go as quick as possible you will get a pretty powerful body

i do look great (without barbells), do you read my posts before re-posting your body? also, you look like a manlet so i cannot say how i look compared to you. im not that ripped but have a bigger chest and i'm probably much taller..
>>

So why not go to a gym and train with barbells?
>>
>>39617735
are you kidding me?
>>
>>39617758
No i am not kidding you.
Its far better to train with barbells than to do bodyweight movements with a vest.
>>
>>39617808
better in what way? costs? time? gain of muscles / workout?
there is more than black and white in life.
>>
>>39617860
You can overload a barbell far easier. You have access to machines, dumbells and you can do other exercises like deadlifts, squats etc etc
All you seem to be doing is a bunch of push ups and pull ups.
>>
>>39617896
i'm aware of that. and i did go to the gym.

now my workout lasts 20min, i can hear any music as loud as i want, train without shirt and have still the body most guys dream of.

i know i could reach 100% of my potential with 100% time (gym), but prefer to reach 80% potential with 20% time.

its just my way. i dont care, what others do. just wanted to let the beginners know, that there are different approaches.

I am curious to see a physique built by 20 minute workouts.

"1. You can build muscle and strength in as little as 20 minutes a day if you know what you're doing. Twenty minutes of well planned, focused training will lead to significant improvements in your physique and work capacity.
2. This program only requires a barbell and, ideally, a bench. You'll only do four basic lifts. They're split over two training days and you'll go back and forth between them throughout the week."

Cal. is a dumb meme. If you want to be healthy and get bored at the gym, sure, do it. But if you want to claim to be strong or look good you're out of your mind. Doing only cal. you will either look like a praying mantis and have "functional strenght" or do roids and claim "all calisthenics braah" . Only people who do it that look good or are strong are either doing roids or do freeweights on the side.

How long did it take to get a physique like that?
>>
>>39620980
I dont have a routine and ive been very active since I was 12 years old. Of course I never trained seriously at that age but I did a lot of martial arts until I was 17 then I started really focusing on calisthenics.
>>
>>39617144
>>39617480
300? What the fuck? Why not just wear body weights and do less reps for bigger gains?
>>
>>39621011
So make a general routine for fit since you're a such a pro, most of us don't know what we're doing when it comes TO calisthenics
>>
>>39616788
Yeah man, you are tired, I suggest you take 30-90 mins of nap before, drink a bit of water and do the workout.

Ok if you insist ill just type an example of a workout that I would do myself.
workout A:
1: planche training for 10-15 minutes. Use isometric holds and dynamic reps
2: band assisted chin ups 3x5-8 followed by 3x3-5(increase intensity by holding the band lower or farther from your body)
3:Archer dips for 6 reps followed by 6 more reps of regular dips
4:Wide grip pull ups
5:Finish off with dragon flag or V-sit

Workout B:
1: 3x5 wide grip elevated handstand push ups followed by 2x3-5 close grip
2: front lever 3x5-8 dynamic reps may add in some isometric work
3:3x3 bar muscles ups and 2x5 ring muscle ups
4: Bulgarian dips 3x8
5: Toes to bar 3x10
Overall this could take you anywhere from 45 mins to an hour and a half depending on how much you rest inbetween sets.
>>
>>39616788
Yeah man, I used to get them when I started training as well, it's the muscles being exhausted and likely sodium depletion causing mild crampoes.

For the people iit arguing about lifting vs calisthenics,
I've done both for extended amounts of time, with years of not exercising apart, and am really unbiased.

>Calisthenics
It is overall better for you.
You learn your body better.
You use your own bodyweight, minimal risk of injury.
You will see more result in daily activities, your body works better.
No need for a gym or equipment.
Better if you want to include conditioning.
Better variety of exercises, challenging different groups of muscles.
Your strength will be more explosive, which is actually the good kind, the one you use in daily life or in dangerous situations.

>Lifting
Results faster by miles.
Easy to progressive overload, don't have to change exercises all the time.
Going to the gym is actually a great experience, you will build some basic human social skills, you will meet people but not in a threatening way, you will check out a lot of cardio bunny ass.
Easier to maintain the habit of being fit with lifting, trust me.
You will hands down look better.

>My advice
Take up a sport you like, and go with that.
Calisthenics are better if you want to be a fit person and not just look like one. They require probably 2x as much determination on your part, when I see lifters thinking they have discipline and willpower and they think they're putting a lot of effort in, I always kek to myself. Doing a competitive sport (I always encourage combat sports, they build character, confidence, and are fun as fuck) is on a different league in that aspect.
If you want to lose weight and look good, lift. Start now. 3 days a week SS and add chin-ups.
If you are semi-fit and want to have a body that works great, and you WILL feel a difference, find a good calisthenics program, focused on constant movement, about 3 sets of 10 reps and then bump it to 3 sets of 30 reps, which builds conditioning more than strength but the strength you will get from it will be more usable than the strength from lifting. Cont.
>>
>>39621339
Cont.

You can get a program like convict conditioning and make it 6x6 for more strength/muscle mass but if you wanna do that just go lift.

When you are a fit person, then you can incorporate lifting into your schedule.

ALWAYS have 2 days of cardio in, for starters do running C25K 2x a week, then add a HIIT day, and then after some time just do HIIT with calisthenic exercises and run on Saturdays.

As I said, if you want to lose weight, or just look better and feel better, but not really in it for being in peak performance, then lift.
>>
>>39621339
>>39621367
Thanks for these posts. I'm considering starting calisthenics and I think I still will, even if the results "take longer".

However, I'm not convinced that the results are related to the type of exercise and not the rep count?

>You can get a program like convict conditioning and make it 6x6 for more strength/muscle mass but if you wanna do that just go lift.
I don't buy this logic. What do you mean, just go lift? Aren't you still getting all the other benefits of doing calisthenics over lifting?
>>
>>39617587
Yeah, boulderers and aggressive climbers will tend to be bulkier than lead climbers for sure, but most high level boulderers I know who use that style of climbing will cross-train
>>
>>39621485
Partially, yes. If you look into convict conditioning, it is intended to be high rep (basically, conditioning not building muscle mass).
My thoughts writing this were that, since your goal is to build muscle mass, why not lift instead? You will have "better" results (more muscle mass gain).
It is obviously better for your body to do the 6x6 convict conditioning thing than lift. BUT, since your goal is muscle mass, I suggested going with your goal. Results give confidence and confidence gives more results. I hope you understand what I'm saying.

If you want to build muscle and look better but also do it in a safer, healthier way with the calisthenic benefits, then do it.

I guess you're right about that, I was being kind of absolute not thinking of the middle ground.

Yeah, by all means follow the progression in CC, make it 6x6 and maybe ramp it up to 4x30 (for ab exercises) and 3x15-25 (for pushups etc.) during the month before you move to the next exercise in the progression.
It's actually a very easy to read and follow book as far as fitness ones go.

i've been trying to merge lifting and calisthenics but i have no idea how to effectively program the two. i just can't envision how to train for shit like levers, L-sit variations, handstands etc while also progressing the compounds.

if someone could help me out on this i'd be very grateful.
>>
>>39622116
Why didn't you make one yourself?
>>
>>39622232
The trick is to find a balance between strength. bodyweight, and balance. If you weigh a lot then naturally you will have problems maneuvering your body in calisthenics.
